तृण धरि ओट कहती बैदेही। सुमिरी अवधपति परम सनेही(रामायण के सुंदरकांड से लिया गया प्रसंग)

*ये प्रसंग उस समय का है जब रावण माता सीता को

हरके लंका ले गया था और , राक्षसों की निगरानी में उसने माता को अशोक वाटिका में रखा हुआ था।

*कहा जाता है कि जब भी रावण माता सीता को डराने धमकाने के लिए माता के पास आता था तो माता एक तृण यानि घास का एक तिनका अपने हाथ में लेकर उसकी ओर देखने लगती थी। माता के हाथ में तिनका लेने के पीछे एक बड़ा ही गूढ़ रहस्य छिपा हुआ है।

*कहते हैं जब दसरथ जी ने अपने चारों पुत्र राम, लक्ष्मण, भरत और शत्रुघ्न जी का विवाह करके अपनी पुत्र वधुओं को अपने घर अयोध्या नगरी में लाया था, तो पुत्र वधु को पहली बार कुछ मीठा बनाना होता था।

*माता कौशल्या ने सीता जी से कहा कि सीता सदियों से यही परम्परा चली आ रही है कि जब ससुराल में बहु पहली बार खाना बनाती है तो उसे खाने में कुछ मीठा बनाना होता है,तो तुम आज अपने हाथों से हम सबको कुछ मीठा बनाकर खिला दो।

*माता सीता ने बडे़ ही प्रेम से सबके लिए खीर बनाया और सबकी थाली परोस दी। दसरथ जी और उनके चारों पुत्र सबके लिए माता ने आसन लगाया और सभी के आगे उनके खीर का पत्तल रख दिया। उसी समय हवा के एक तेज झोंके से एक घास का तिनका उड़कर दसरथ जी के खीर में जा कर गिर गया। माता ने सोचा अब क्या करूं, फ़िर उन्होंने एक टक से अपने दिव्य दृष्टि से उस तिनके को देखा और तिनका जलकर भस्म हो गया। दसरथ जी ने ये सब देख लिया, लेकिन माता को पता नहीं चला।

*जब सभी खीर खाकर अपने अपने कक्ष में चले गए तो दसरथ जी ने सीता माता को बुलाकर कहा कि आज मैंने आपकी दिव्य शक्ति को देखा की कैसे आपकी एक दृष्टि से एक तिनका क्षण भर में जलकर राख हो गया। आप कोई साधारण स्त्री नहीं हैं, आप तो माता जगत जननी हैं। आज आप मुझे ये वचन दो कि जब भी आप किसी वजह से क्रोधित होंगी तो आप अपनी ये दिव्य दृष्टि किसी पर मत डालना वरना वो भी इस तिनके की भांति जलकर राख हो जाएगा।

*अपने ससुर को दिए हुए उसी वचन के कारण जब भी रावण उनके समीप आकर उन्हें डराता धमकाता तो माता हाथ में तिनका उठाकर उसे देखने लगती, क्योंकि माता जानती थी कि अगर मैंने रावण की ओर अपनी दृष्टि डाली तो ये तुरंत जलकर भस्म हो जाएगा। माता अगर चाहती तो वो किसी भी क्षण रावण को जलाकर भस्म कर डालती, परन्तु वो चाहती थी कि रावण को मारने का श्रेय केवल मेरे स्वामी श्री राम चन्द्र जी को ही मिलना चाहिए। धन्य हैं हमारी माता सीता और धन्य है अपने पति श्री राम के प्रति उनकी निष्ठा।

* This incident is of the time when Ravana took Mother Sita to Lanka and, under the supervision of demons, she kept Mother in Ashoka Vatika.

 * It is said that whenever Ravana came to Mother to threaten Mother Sita, Mother used to look at him with a straw or a straw in his hand.  There is a big secret hidden behind taking the straw in the hand of the mother.

 * It is said that when Dasrath ji married his four sons Ram, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughan ji and brought his son bride to his home in Ayodhya city, the son bride had to make something sweet for the first time.

 * Mata Kaushalya told Sita ji that Sita has been following this tradition for centuries, that when in-laws cook many times for the first time, they have to make something sweet to eat, so today you can make us some sweet with your own hands and feed.  two.

 * Mother Sita made Kheer for everyone with great love and served everyone's plate.  Mother Dasaratha and his four sons put a pedestal for everyone and put their kheer plate in front of everyone.  At the same time, a speck of grass flew from a strong gust of wind and fell into Dasrathji's pudding.  Mother thought what to do now, then with a tuck she saw that straw from her divine vision and the straw was consumed by burning.  Dasrath ji saw all this, but mother did not know.

 * When all the kheer ate and went to their respective rooms, Dasrathji called Sita Mata and said that today I saw your divine power, how one of your eyes was burnt to ashes in a moment.  You are not an ordinary woman, you are the mother of the world.  Today you give me this promise that whenever you are angry for any reason, do not put your divine vision on anyone else, it will also be burnt to ashes like this straw.

 * Because of the same promise given to her father-in-law, whenever Ravana came near and threatened her, mother would pick up the straw in her hand and look at it, because mother knew that if I turned my eyes towards Ravana, it would be consumed immediately.  If mother wanted, she would burn and consume Ravana at any moment, but she wanted that only my lord Shri Ram Chandra Ji should get the credit for killing Ravana.  Blessed are our mother Sita and blessed is her loyalty to her husband Shri Ram.
