कामदा एकादशी व्रत कथा

कामदा एकादशी जिसे फलदा एकादशी भी कहते हैं, भगवान श्री विष्णु का उत्तम व्रत कहा गया है। इस व्रत के पुण्य से जीवात्मा को पाप कर्मों से मुक्ति मिलती है।यह एकादशी कष्टों का निवारण करने वाली, और मनोनुकूल फल देने के कारण फलदा ,तथा कामना पूर्ण होने के कारण कामदा कही जाती है।

                एक समय की बात है धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर कहने लगे कि हे भगवन मैं आपको कोटि कोटि प्रणाम करता हूं, अब आप कृपा करके चैत्र शुक्ल एकादशी का महात्म मुझसे कहिए।

                 यह सुनकर भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने कहा कि हे धर्मराज यही प्रश्न एक समय राजा दिलीप ने अपने गुरु वशिष्ट जी से किया था, और जो समाधान उन्होंने किया वो सब मैं तुमसे कहता हूं।

               प्राचीन काल में रत्नपुर नामक एक नगर था, वहां पर अनेक ऐश्वर्यों से युक्त पुंडरीक नामक एक राजा राज्य करता था। रत्नपुर में अनेक, अप्सराएं, किन्नर तथा गंधर्व वास करते थे।

               उनमें से एक जगह ललिता और ललित नाम के पति पत्नी अत्यंत वैभवशाली घर में निवास करते थे। उन दोनों में अत्यंत प्रेम था, कुछ समय के लिए भी एक दूसरे से अलग होकर दोनों अत्यंत व्याकुल हो जाते थे।

                 एक दिन पुंडरीक की सभा में अन्य गंधर्वों सहित ललित भी गान कर  था। गाते गाते उसको अपनी पत्नी ललिता का ध्यान आ गया और उसका स्वर भंग होने के कारण गाने का स्वरूप ही बिगड़ गया।

                  ललित के मन के भाव को जान कर कारकोट नामक नाग ने पद भंग होने का कारण राजा से कह दिया। तब पुंडरीक ने अत्यंत क्रोध में आकर कहा कि तू मेरे सामने गाता हुआ अपने स्त्री का स्मरण कर रहा है, अतः तू कच्चा मांस, और मनुष्यों को खाने वाला विशालकाय नरभक्षी राक्षस बनकर अपने किए कर्म का फल भोग।

                 पुंडरीक के श्राप से ललित उसी समय एक विशालकाय राक्षस बन गया। उसका मुख अत्यंत भयंकर हो गया, तथा उसके मुख से अग्नि भी निकलने लगी।

                  उसकी नाक पर्वत की कंदरा के समान विशाल हो गई। गर्दन पर्वत के समान लगने लगी, सिर के बाल पर्वतों पर खड़े हुए वृक्षों के समान लगने लगे, तथा भुजाएं अत्यंत लंबी हो गई।

              इस प्रकार राक्षस होकर वह अनेक प्रकार के दुख और यातनाएं भोगने लगा। जब उसकी पत्नी ललिता को इस बात का पता चला तो उसे बहुत दुख हुआ। वह अपने पति के उद्धार का मार्ग सोचने लगी।

              वह राक्षस अनेक प्रकार के दुख को सहता हुआ घने वन में रहने लगा। उसकी स्त्री उसके पीछे पीछे जाती, और विलाप करते रहती। एक बार ललिता अपने पति के पीछे पीछे चलती हुई विंध्याचल पर्वत पर पहुंच गई,जहां पर श्रृंगी ऋषि का आश्रम था।

               ललिता शीघ्र ही श्रृंगी ऋषि के आश्रम गई और वहां जाकर अत्यंत ही विनम्र भाव से उनसे प्रार्थना करने लगी। उसे देख कर श्रृंगी ऋषि बोले कि हे पुत्री तुम कौन हो और यहां किस उद्देश्य से आई हो।

              ललिता बोली कि हे मुनि मेरा नाम ललिता है, और मेरा पति राजा पुंडरीक के श्राप से एक विशालकाय राक्षस बन गया है, इस बात से मेरा मन बहुत दुखी है, कृप्या आप मुझे अपने पति के उद्धार का कोई उपाय बताएं।

                श्रृंगी ऋषि बोले कि हे गंधर्व कन्या अब चैत्र शुक्ल एकादशी आने वाली है, जिसका नाम कामदा एकादशी है। इस व्रत को करने से मनुष्य के सभी कार्य सिद्ध होते हैं, यदि तू कामदा एकादशी का व्रत कर उसके पुण्य को अपने पति को देगी तो तेरा पति शीघ्र ही राक्षस योनि से मुक्त हो जाएगा, और राजा का श्राप भी समाप्त हो जाएगा।

             मुनि के वचन को सुनकर ललिता ने कामदा एकादशी का व्रत किया, और द्वादशी के दिन ब्राह्मणों के सामने अपने व्रत का फल अपने पति को देती हुई भगवान से इस प्रकार प्रार्थना करने लगी कि हे प्रभु मैंने जो यह एकादशी का व्रत किया है इसका फल मेरे पति को प्राप्त हो जाए, जिससे वह राक्षस योनि से मुक्त हो जाएं।

              एकादशी का फल अपने पति को देते ही उसका पति राक्षस योनि से मुक्त होकर अपने पहले के स्वरूप को प्राप्त हुआ, और अनेक सुंदर वस्त्र धारण कर अपनी पत्नी ललिता के साथ विहार करने लगा।

               उसके पश्चात वे दोनों विमान में बैठ कर स्वर्ग लोक को चले गए। वशिष्ट मुनि कहने लगे कि हे राजन इस व्रत को विधि पूर्वक करने से समस्त पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं, तथा राक्षस आदि की भी योनि छूट जाती है। संसार में इसके बराबर कोई दूसरा और व्रत नहीं है।

              इसकी कथा पढ़ने या सुनने से वाजपेई यज्ञ का फल प्राप्त होता है। वास्तव में हर एकादशी का पुण्य अपार है, एकादशी का व्रत करने से मनुष्य  पापों से मुक्त होकर भव सागर से तर जाते हैं।

              एकादशी के दिन अधिक से अधिक भगवान की सुंदर लीलाओं का श्रवण और कीर्तन करना चाहिए। सभी को अधिक से अधिक हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करना चाहिए। इस दिन कम से कम सोलह अथवा पच्चीस माला का जप सबको करना चाहिए।

Kamda Ekadashi, also known as Falda Ekadashi, has been called the best fast of Lord Shri Vishnu.  Due to the virtue of this fast, the soul gets freedom from sinful deeds. This Ekadashi is called the remover of sufferings, and because of giving favorable results, and because of fulfillment of wishes, it is called Kamada.

Once upon a time, Dharmaraj Yudhishthir started saying that O God, I bow down to you, now please tell me the greatness of Chaitra Shukla Ekadashi.

Hearing this, Lord Shri Krishna said that O King of Dharma, this question was once asked by King Dilip to his Guru Vashisht ji, and I tell you all the solutions he gave.

In ancient times, there was a city named Ratnapur, where a king named Pundarika ruled with many opulences.  Many Apsaras, Kinnars and Gandharvas used to live in Ratnapur.

In one of them, husband and wife named Lalita and Lalit lived in a very luxurious house.  They both had a lot of love, even for some time apart from each other, both used to get very upset.

               One day Lalit along with other Gandharvas was singing in Pundarika's assembly.  While singing, he got the attention of his wife Lalita and due to her loss of voice, the form of the song got spoiled.

Knowing the feelings of Lalit, a snake named Karkot told the king the reason for the dissolution of the post.  Then Pundarika got very angry and said that you are remembering your wife while singing in front of me, so you are reaping the fruits of your actions by becoming a giant cannibal monster who eats raw meat and humans.

Due to Pundarika's curse, Lalit at the same time became a giant demon.  His face became extremely fierce, and fire also started coming out of his mouth.

His nose became huge like a cave in the mountain.  The neck started looking like a mountain, the hair on the head looked like trees standing on mountains, and the arms became extremely long.

In this way, being a demon, he started suffering many kinds of sorrows and tortures.  When his wife Lalita came to know about this, she felt very sad.  She started thinking of the way to save her husband.

That demon started living in the dense forest after suffering many kinds of sorrows.  His wife followed him, and kept on lamenting.  Once Lalita, following her husband, reached Vindhyachal mountain, where Shringi Rishi's hermitage was located.

Lalita soon went to Shringi Rishi's ashram and started praying to him with utmost humility.  Seeing her, Shringi Rishi said, O daughter, who are you and for what purpose have you come here.

Lalita said that O Muni, my name is Lalita, and my heart is very sad because of the curse of King Pundarika, my husband has become a giant monster, please tell me some way to save my husband

                Shringi Rishi said that O Gandharva girl, now Chaitra Shukla Ekadashi is about to come, whose name is Kamda Ekadashi.  By observing this fast, all the works of a man are proved, if you fast on Kamada Ekadashi and give its virtue to your husband, then your husband will soon be free from the demonic vagina, and the king's curse will also end.

After listening to the sage's words, Lalita fasted on Kamada Ekadashi, and on the day of Dwadashi, while giving the fruit of her fast to her husband in front of Brahmins, she started praying to God in such a way that O Lord, I have observed this Ekadashi fast, I will get the fruits of this fast.  May the husband get it, so that he can be free from the demonic vagina.

As soon as she gave the fruit of Ekadashi to her husband, her husband got free from the demon vagina and got his earlier form, and wearing many beautiful clothes started walking with his wife Lalita.

After that they both went to heaven by sitting in the plane.  Vashisht Muni started saying that O Rajan, by observing this fast methodically, all sins are destroyed, and the vagina of demons etc. is also left.  There is no other fast equal to this in the world.

By reading or listening to its story, the fruit of Vajpayee Yagya is obtained.  In fact, the virtue of every Ekadashi is immense, by fasting on Ekadashi, humans get free from sins and cross the ocean of life.

On the day of Ekadashi, listening and chanting of God's beautiful pastimes should be done as much as possible.  Everyone should chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra more and more.  Everyone should chant at least 16 or 25 rounds on this day.

क्या हुआ जब एक सास ने अपनी बहु से कहा कि जब तक लड्डू गोपाल मुस्कुराएं नहीं तब तक उन्हें भोग नहीं लगाना(एक सच्ची घटना पर आधारित कहानी)

एक महिला थी जो लड्डू गोपाल की बहुत सेवा करती थी वो सुबह शाम उन्हें भोग लगाती, उनसे बातें करती। वो अपने लड्डू गोपाल से बहुत प्यार करती थी।

                  उस महिला का एक बेटा था, जो कि अब शादी के लायक हो गया था। उस महिला ने अपने बेटे की शादी कर दी, और घर में नई नई बहु आई।

                 अब उस महिला को लगा कि अब मेरे बेटे की शादी करके मैंने अपनी जिम्मेदारी पूरी कर ली, अब मुझे तीर्थ यात्रा पर जाना चाहिए।

                बस उसे एक बाद की चिंता होने लगी कि मेरे तीर्थ यात्रा पर जाने के बाद मेरे लड्डू गोपाल की सेवा कैसे होगी?, तो उसने अपनी बहु से पूछा कि बहु मैं तीर्थ यात्रा पर जाऊंगी, मेरे वापस लौट कर आने तक  क्या तुम मेरे लड्डू गोपाल की सेवा करोगी?

               बहु ने खुश होकर कहा कि हां मां जी मैं आपके लौट कर आने तक लड्डू गोपाल की सेवा जरूर करूंगी। सास ने कहा तो ठीक है सुन सुबह तुम नहा धो कर लड्डू गोपाल को अच्छे से नहा धो देना, उनका अच्छे से श्रृंगार कर के,उन्हें बांसुरी धारण करवा कर उन्हें सुंदर वस्त्र पहना कर, फिर उन्हें दर्पण दिखाना, और दर्पण दिखाने के बाद जब वो मुस्कुराने लगे तब उन्हें भोग लगाना।

             बहु ने कहा ठीक है मां जी आप निश्चिंत होकर जाएं, आपने जैसे कहा है मैं वैसे ही लडडू गोपाल की सेवा करूंगी। सास तीर्थ यात्रा पर चली गई। अब सुबह जल्दी उठ कर स्नान आदि करके फिर लडडू गोपाल को स्नान करवा कर, उन्हें सुंदर वस्त्र पहना कर, उनका अच्छे से श्रृंगार किया, और फिर उन्हें दर्पण दिखाया लेकिन दर्पण दिखाने पर लडडू गोपाल नहीं मुस्कुराए।

             बहु ने सोचा कि शायद लडडू गोपाल को मैंने अच्छे से श्रृंगार नहीं किया, इसलिए वो दर्पण दिखाने पर नहीं मुस्कुराए, ऐसा सोच कर उसने फिर से लडडू गोपाल को नहलाया, उन्हें सुंदर वस्त्र पहना कर उनका श्रृंगार किया, और फिर से उन्हें दर्पण दिखाया, लेकिन लडडू गोपाल फिर भी नहीं मुस्कुराए।

              अब वो बहुत परेशान हो गई, उसने फिर से उन्हें स्नान कराया, सुंदर वस्त्र पहनाया, उनका श्रृंगार किया और उन्हें दर्पण दिखाया, पर फिर भी लडडू गोपाल नहीं मुस्कुराए। जब उसने कई बार ऐसा किया तो अब जब उसने श्रृंगार करके लडडू गोपाल को दर्पण दिखाया तो लडडू गोपाल मुस्कुराने लगे ।

           भगवान को ऐसे मुस्कुराता हुआ देख कर वो बहुत खुश हुई, और फिर उसने उन्हें लाड प्यार करके फिर उन्हें भोग लगाया। जब तक उसकी सास वापस आई, बहु रोज सुबह जल्दी उठकर लडडू गोपाल की सेवा बहुत प्यार से करने लगी, अब तो जब वो लड्डू गोपाल को नहा कर उनका श्रृंगार करके उन्हें दर्पण दिखाती तो वो दर्पण देखते ही मुस्कुरा देते, और वो बहुत खुश होकर उन्हें गले लगा कर उन्हें प्यार करती, और फिर प्रेम से उन्हें भोग लगाती।

               जब सास तीर्थ से लौट कर आई तो उसने बहु से पूछा, कि बहु मेरे यहां नहीं रहने पर तुमने लडडू गोपाल की सेवा अच्छे से किया न, बहु ने कहा कि हां मां जी मैंने जैसे आपने बताया था, ठीक वैसे ही लडडू गोपाल की सेवा की।

              सास ने कहा कि अब मैं आ गई हूं तो अब तुम मत करना लडडू गोपाल की सेवा, अब मैं खुद उनकी सेवा करूंगी। अब सास लडडू गोपाल को नहा कर उन्हें सुंदर वस्त्र पहना कर, उनका श्रृंगार करके उन्हें दर्पण दिखाया, और जब लड्डू गोपाल मुस्कुराए तो उनको भोग लगाया।

              जब रात में वो महिला सोई, तो भगवान उसके सपने में आकर उससे कहने लगे कि, अब से तुम मेरी सेवा मत करो, अब अपनी बहु को मेरी सेवा सौंप दो। ऐसा सुन कर वो महिला भगवान से कहने लगी कि आप ऐसा क्यों कह रहे हैं,? क्या आप मुझसे नाराज हैं,?

               वो कहने लगी कि मैं 20 वर्ष से आपकी सेवा कर रही हूं, क्या मुझसे कोई भूल हो गई, या मेरे सेवा में कोई कमी रह गई की आप मुझसे नाराज हो गए। भगवान ने कहा अरे नहीं तुमने तो वर्षों से मेरी सेवा बहुत प्रेम से किया है, तुम्हारे सेवा में कोई कमी नहीं है। मैं तुम्हारे सेवा से बहुत प्रसन्न हूं।

                  भगवान ने कहा कि तुम्हारी बहु मुझसे बहुत प्रेम करती है, मैं जब तक दर्पण देख कर मुस्कुराया नहीं तब तक वो बार बार मुझे नहाती रही, और जब मैं मुस्कुराने लगा तभी वो मुझसे लाड लगाकर फिर मुझे भोग लगाती थी। उसने मुझे मूर्ति समझ कर नहीं, बल्कि मैं सच में हूं ये जान कर मेरी सेवा की है, और मैं उसकी सेवा से बहुत प्रसन्न हूं। इसलिए तुम मेरी सेवा की जिम्मेदारी अब अपनी बहु पर सौंप दो।

               यही सपना देखते देखते ही वो महिला नींद से जागी, और जागते ही सीधे अपनी बहु से जाकर पूछा कि बेटा, जब मैं तीर्थ यात्रा पर गई थी तो तुमने लड्डू गोपाल की सेवा किस प्रकार से किया था। तब बहु ने कहा कि मां जी जैसे आपने कहा था मैंने ठीक उसी तरह से लड्डू गोपाल की सेवा की थी, जब तक लड्डू गोपाल दर्पण देखकर मुस्कुराते नहीं थे, तब तक मैं उन्हें भोग नहीं लगाती थी।

                  तब सास ने कहा कि बेटा तुमने लड्डू गोपाल की सेवा बहुत अच्छे से की थी, इसलिए अब से उनकी सेवा रोज तुम ही करोगी।

              इस कहानी से यही सीख मिलती है कि भगवान हमेशा भाव के भूखे होते हैं, उन्हें हमारी धन दौलत की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं होती है। प्रेम से अगर हम उन्हें एक पत्र भी अर्पण करते हैं तो वो हमारे प्रेम में खींचे चले आते हैं।

There was a woman who used to serve Laddu Gopal a lot, she would offer food to him in the morning and evening, talk to him.  She loved her Laddu Gopal a lot.

That woman had a son, who was now of marriageable age.  That woman got her son married, and a new daughter-in-law came to the house.

Now that woman felt that now I have fulfilled my responsibility by marrying my son, now I should go on pilgrimage.

Just after that he started worrying about how my Laddu Gopal will be served after I go on pilgrimage? So he asked his daughter-in-law that daughter-in-law I will go on pilgrimage till I come back, are you my Laddu Gopal  Will you serve?

The daughter-in-law happily said that yes mother, I will definitely serve Laddu Gopal till you return.  Mother-in-law said, okay listen, in the morning you take a bath and wash Laddu Gopal well, make him well, make him wear flute and dress him in beautiful clothes, then show him the mirror, and after showing the mirror when  When they started smiling, offer them bhog.

The daughter-in-law said, okay mother, you go without worry, I will serve Laddu Gopal as you have said.  Mother-in-law went on pilgrimage.  Now getting up early in the morning after taking bath etc., then got Laddu Gopal bathed, dressed him in beautiful clothes, made up him well, and then showed him the mirror but Laddu Gopal did not smile when shown the mirror.

The daughter-in-law thought that maybe I did not make up Laddu Gopal well, so he did not smile when shown the mirror, thinking that she bathed Laddu Gopal again, dressed him in beautiful clothes and made him up, and again showed him the mirror,  But Laddu Gopal still did not smile.

Now she got very upset, she again got him bathed, dressed him in beautiful clothes, did his makeup and showed him the mirror, but still Laddu Gopal did not smile.  When he did this many times, now when he showed the mirror to Laddu Gopal after making up, Laddu Gopal started smiling.

She was very happy to see God smiling like this, and then she pampered him and then offered him food.  Until her mother-in-law returned, the daughter-in-law got up early in the morning and started serving Laddu Gopal with great love, now when she used to bathe Laddu Gopal and show him the mirror, he would smile as soon as he saw the mirror, and he would be very happy.  Hug them and love them, and then enjoy them with love.

When mother-in-law returned from pilgrimage, she asked daughter-in-law, did you serve Laddu Gopal well when daughter-in-law was not with me, daughter-in-law said yes mother, I served Laddu Gopal just like you told.  Did.

Mother-in-law said that now I have come, so now you do not serve Laddu Gopal, now I myself will serve him.  Now the mother-in-law bathed Laddu Gopal, dressed him in beautiful clothes, adorned him and showed him the mirror, and when Laddu Gopal smiled, she offered him bhog.

When that woman slept in the night, God appeared in her dream and said to her that, from now on you don't serve me, now hand over my service to your daughter-in-law.  Hearing this, the woman started saying to God, why are you saying this?  Are you angry with me?

    She started saying that I have been serving you for 20 years, did I make any mistake, or was there any shortcoming in my service that you got angry with me.  God said oh no, you have served me with great love for years, there is no shortage in your service.  I am very pleased with your service.

God said that your daughter-in-law loves me very much, until I smiled after seeing the mirror, she kept bathing me again and again, and when I started smiling, she used to pamper me and then indulge me.  He has served me not considering me as an idol, but knowing that I really am, and I am very pleased with his service.  That's why you hand over the responsibility of my service to your daughter-in-law.

Seeing this dream, the woman woke up from her sleep, and as soon as she woke up, went straight to her daughter-in-law and asked, son, how did you serve Laddu Gopal when I went on pilgrimage.  Then the daughter-in-law said that mother, I had served Laddu Gopal in the same way as you said, until Laddu Gopal smiled after seeing the mirror, I did not offer food to him.

Then the mother-in-law said that son, you had served Laddu Gopal very well, so from now on you will serve him daily.

The lesson to be learned from this story is that God is always hungry for feelings, He has no need for our wealth.  If we offer even a letter to them with love, then they keep getting pulled in our love.

बांके बिहारी लाल की एक बहुत ही सुन्दर और सच्ची घटना पर आधारित कहानी

ये कहानी नहीं बल्कि बिल्कुल सच्ची घटना है, बांके बिहारी जी आज भी अपने भक्तों के साथ कुछ न कुछ लीला करते रहते हैं।

            जो भी बांके बिहारी जी के भक्त हैं उनकी आस्था और भी प्रगाढ़ हो जाएगी इस कहानी को सुन कर। दिल्ली में एक परिवार रहते थे, मां, बाप और एक बेटा। ये तीनों ही ठाकुर जी के अनन्य भक्त थे।

             जब बेटे की शादी हुई तो उसकी पत्नी घर आई, तो उसने अपनी पत्नी से कहा कि देखो हमारे परिवार में एक परंपरा है कि हर पूर्णिमा को हम ठाकुर जी के दर्शन करने जाते हैं।

              हम ठाकुर जी के भक्त हैं, तो अब आपको भी हमारे साथ उनके दर्शन करने के लिए जाना पड़ेगा, और भगवान की ऐसी कृपा हुई कि जो पत्नी आई थी वो भी ठाकुर जी की भक्त थी।

              अब ये सिलसिला चल पड़ा कि वो दोनों पति पत्नी हर पूर्णिमा को ठाकुर जी के दर्शन करने जाते थे। थोड़ा समय बीता, उनके पहले एक बच्चा हुआ, फिर कुछ समय बाद फिर दूसरा बच्चा हुआ।

             अब दो बच्चे होने के बाद भी ये सिलसिला चलता रहा, कि हर पूर्णिमा को वे अपने दोनों बच्चों को लेकर ठाकुर जी के दर्शन करने आते वहां प्रसाद खाते और फिर घर लौट आते थे।

             अब पत्नी ने अपने पति से कहा कि बच्चे बहुत परेशान करते हैं बस में जाने से, तो कुछ भी करके एक कार ले लो, फिर हम चारों अपनी कार से बांके बिहारी जी के दर्शन के लिए आया करेंगे।

              आप ठाकुर जी से बोलो कि वो एक कार का इंतजाम करवा दें। वो मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार से थे, तो पति ने कहीं कहीं से जोर जोर कर, और उसकी पत्नी ने भी घर के खर्च से कुछ पैसे बचाकर जैसे तैसे करके एक कार ली ।

               अब जब इन्होंने कार लिया तो , ये आपस में विचार करने लगे कि देखो ये कार तो ठाकुर जी की कृपा से ही आई है, तो सबसे पहले हम इस कार को लेकर बांके बिहारी जी के दर्शन के लिए ही जाएंगे।

              पहले वहां पर इस कार की पूजा होगी,  उसके बाद ही ये हमारे पास रहेगी, और फिर हम इसमें यात्रा करेंगे। हमारी पहली यात्रा तो बांके बिहारी की ही होगी।

              ये निर्णय लेकर पति, पत्नी और उनके दोनों बच्चे सभी लोग वृन्दावन गए बांके बिहारी जी की दर्शन करने। अपनी कार से दिल्ली से ये वृन्दावन पहुंचे , बांके बिहारी जी की इन्हें बहुत सुंदर दर्शन हुई।

             उसके बाद वो निधि वन गए वहां भी उन्हें बहुत अच्छे दर्शन हुए, बांके बिहारी जी के पुजारी जी ने उनसे कहा था, कि जब मंदिर के द्वार दोपहर में बंद हो जाएंगे, तो उस समय मैं आपकी कार की पूजा करने आऊंगा।

             अब दोपहर में जब मंदिर के द्वार बंद हो गए, तो गोस्वामी जी कार की पूजा करने आए, नई कार थी और बहुत ही सुन्दर कार थी। गोस्वामी जी ने कार की बहुत प्रशंसा की, और कहा कि बड़ी अच्छी कार खरीदी है बेटा, ईश्वर आपको और तरक्की दें।

              गोस्वामी जी ने कार की पूजा की, और चंदन से उस कार के सीसा पर लिखा बांके बिहारी लाल की जय। उन्होंने कहा कि अब ये कार तुम्हारे लिए सौभाग्यशाली है, ठाकुर जी की कृपा तुम्हारे उपर हो गई।

              ये आशिर्वाद लेकर वापस वो चारों वृन्दावन से अपने घर दिल्ली आ गए। दिल्ली पहुंचते पहुंचते उन्हें रात हो गई, खाना खाया , अपनी कार को गली में लगा दी, और निश्चिंत होकर सो गए।

                        सुबह जब वो सोकर उठे तो उन्होंने देखा कि उनकी कार उनके घर के बाहर जहां उन्होंने लगाया था, वहां नहीं है। उनकी कार चोरी हो गई, अब बड़ी मुश्किल से एक एक पैसा जोड़कर उन्होंने कार ली थी, तो अब वो चारों बड़े परेशान हो गए।

                 उसने प्रार्थना की कि ठाकुर जी ये क्या हो गया, कार लाया था, और लाते ही सबसे पहले आपके पास लेकर आया था, और मेरी कार चोरी हो गई।

              परेशान होकर इधर उधर देखने लगा, लोगों से पूछा कि मेरी कार देखी है, लेकिन किसी ने कुछ नहीं कहा। बच्चे रोने लगे , बच्चों को लगा कि अब तो सपना पूरा हो गया, अब तो कार में ही घूमने जाया करेंगे, उन्हें लगा कि उनका सपना टूट गया।

             किसी ने कहा कि जाओ थाने जाकर रिपोर्ट लिखवा आओ, लेकिन नई कार थी तो कार का नंबर आने में भी समय लगता है, तो उनके पास कार का नंबर भी नहीं था, तो वो रिपोर्ट कैसे लिखवाते।

               लेकिन वो फिर भी थाने जाकर रिपोर्ट लिखवा आए की नई कार थी, कल हमने लिया था, और आज चोरी हो गई। वहां से लौटते समय वो आपस में बात कर रहे थे कि पता नहीं हमारा कार कौन ले गया, पता नहीं अब हमें हमारी कार मिलेगी की नहीं।

             घर आकर पति अपनी पत्नी को समझा रहा था कि देखो हो सकता है ये कार हमारे लिए अच्छा न हो, तो पत्नी ने कहा कि ऐसा कैसे हो सकता है कि ये कार हमारे लिए अच्छा नहीं है। कल तो गोस्वामी जी ने कहा था कि ये कार तुम्हारे लिए सौभाग्यशाली रहेगी, तुम्हें ठाकुर जी का आशिर्वाद मिल गया है।

              तो क्या ये आशिर्वाद मिला हमें कि हमारी मेहनत की कमाई चोरी हो। वो अब बहुत परेशान थे, इसी तरह एक दिन बीता, दो दिन बीत गए लेकिन थाने से कोई रिपोर्ट आई नहीं।

             दूसरी रात को जब वो सोए और सुबह उठे तो उन्होंने देखा कि उनकी कार उनके घर के सामने लगी हुई है, और फूलों से सजी हुई है। देखकर वो एकदम से चौंक गए, और उन्होंने कहा कि ये तो अपनी कार है, लेकिन ये फूलों से सजी हुई क्यों है?

            नीचे जाकर देखा तो कार तो बिल्कुल ठीक है बिल्कुल वैसी ही है जैसी वो लेकर आए थे। कार की सीट पर एक चिट्ठी रखी हुई थी, चिट्ठी को उठाई , और उठाकर पढ़ने लगे। उसमें लिखा हुआ था कि हरे कृष्णा मैं क्षमा चाहूंगा, मैं एक चोर हूं। मैंने आपके कार की चोरी की, मैं वर्षों से कार और बहुत सारी चीज़ें चोरी करते रहता हूं।

               उसने लिखा था कि जब मैंने आपकी ये कार चोरी की, और घर गया तो पूरे दिन बड़ा परेशान रहा, पूरे दिन बेचैन रहा। पता नहीं किस तरह की बेचैनी थी वो एक अजीब सा डर था, एक अजीब सी घबराहट थी।

              मैं रात को जब सोया , तो एक ही आवाज मन में बार बार गूंज रही थी बांके बिहारी लाल की जय, जो आपके कार पर लिखा हुआ था। वो चंदन से लिखा हुआ शब्द बांके बिहारी लाल की जय सारी रात मेरी आंखों के सामने आता रहा।

               रात भर मुझे इतनी बेचैनी हुई कि जब मैं सुबह उठा तो मुझे लगा कि ये कार किसी साधारण आदमी की नहीं है, और बार बार मुझे वो दिखाई दे रहा था बांके बिहारी लाल की जय, मेरे कानों में यही शब्द गूंज रहा था।

               तब मैंने कार उठाई उसे फूलों से सजाया और इसे ठाकुर जी की कार समझकर आपके घर के सामने रख दिया। इसके बाद मैंने कसम खाया कि जिन्दगी भर अब कभी चोरी नहीं करूंगा।

            हमेशा बांके बिहारी की दर्शन करने जाऊंगा, क्योंकि ईश्वर आज भी है, और हमेशा रहेंगे। अंत में उसने लिखा कि मुझे माफ करना दोस्त, और ये पढ़ कर दोनों पति पत्नी की आंखों में आसूं आ गए।

                 कार को देखकर बच्चे खुशी से झूम उठे। कार पर बांके बिहारी लाल की जय लिख कर गोस्वामी जी ने जो कहा था कि ये कार तुम्हारे लिए सौभाग्यशाली है, ये सिर्फ इनके लिए ही नहीं बल्कि उस चोर के लिए भी सौभाग्यशाली निकला, जिसकी जिन्दगी भी बांके बिहारी जी की कृपा से बदल गई।

              इस सच्ची कहानी से हमें यही सीख मिलती है कि अगर ईश्वर पर हमारा विश्वास प्रगाढ़ हो, हमारा उनके प्रति गहरा प्रेम हो तो वो हमारी सारी चीज़ें हमेशा सही सलामत रखते हैं। ईश्वर हमेशा हमारे साथ होते हैं ,हम उनसे जो कुछ भी कहते हैं वो हमारी हर बात को सुनते हैं ,और हमारे लिए जो भी अच्छा होता है, वो हमें  निश्चित ही प्रदान करते हैं।

         यदि हम कभी किसी बहुत बड़े परेशानी में ही क्यों न हों, उस परेशानी का भी हल वो आसानी से कर देते हैं, बस परेशानी के समय हमें विचलित न होकर ईश्वर पर भरोसा रखना चाहिए और अपने उस परेशानी का हल आस पास ढूंढना चाहिए।

  

     This is not a story but a true incident, Banke Bihari ji continues to do some pastimes with his devotees even today.

Those who are devotees of Banke Bihari ji, their faith will become stronger after listening to this story.  A family lived in Delhi, mother, father and a son.  All these three were exclusive devotees of Thakur ji.

When the son got married, his wife came home, then he told his wife that look, there is a tradition in our family that on every full moon we go to visit Thakur ji.

We are devotees of Thakur ji, so now you will also have to go with us to visit him, and it was God's grace that the wife who came was also a devotee of Thakur ji.

Now this process started that both husband and wife used to go to visit Thakur ji on every full moon day.  Some time passed, they had first one child, then after some time another child was born.

Now even after having two children, this process continued, that on every full moon, they used to come to visit Thakur ji with both their children, eat prasad there and then return home.          

        Now the wife told her husband that the children bother a lot about going in the bus, so do anything and get a car, then all four of us will come in our car to visit Banke Bihari ji.

You tell Thakur ji to arrange for a car.  He belonged to a middle-class family, so the husband managed to buy a car by force from somewhere, and his wife also managed to save some money from household expenses.

Now when they bought the car, they started thinking among themselves that look, this car has come only by the grace of Thakur ji, so first of all we will take this car to visit Banke Bihari ji.

First this car will be worshiped there, only then it will be with us, and then we will travel in it.  Our first visit will be to Banke Bihari only.

Taking this decision husband, wife and their two children all went to Vrindavan to visit Banke Bihari ji.  He reached Vrindavan from Delhi in his car, he had a very beautiful darshan of Banke Bihari ji.

After that he went to Nidhi Van, there also he got very good darshan, the priest of Banke Bihari ji had told him that when the doors of the temple will be closed in the afternoon, then at that time I will come to worship your car.

Now in the afternoon when the doors of the temple were closed, Goswami ji came to worship the car, it was a new car and it was a very beautiful car.  Goswami ji praised the car a lot, and said that you have bought a very good car son, God bless you more.     

Goswami ji worshiped the car, and wrote Banke Bihari Lal Ki Jai on the lead of that car with sandalwood.  He said that now this car is lucky for you, Thakur ji's blessings have fallen on you.

After taking these blessings, all four of them returned from Vrindavan to their home in Delhi.  By the time they reached Delhi, it was late night, had dinner, parked their car in the street, and slept peacefully.

When he woke up in the morning, he saw that his car was not there where he had parked it outside his house.  His car was stolen, now he had bought the car by adding every single penny with great difficulty, so now all four of them are very upset.

He prayed that what happened Thakur ji, had brought the car, and as soon as he brought it, he brought it to you first, and my car was stolen.

Worried, he started looking here and there, asked people if they had seen my car, but no one said anything.  The children started crying, the children felt that now the dream has come true, now they will go for a ride in the car only, they felt that their dream was broken.

Someone said go to the police station and get the report written, but it was a new car and it takes time to get the number of the car, so they didn't even have the number of the car, so how could they get the report written.

But still he went to the police station and got the report written that it was a new car, yesterday we had taken it, and today it was stolen.  While returning from there, they were talking among themselves that I don't know who took our car, I don't know whether we will get our car now or not.

When I slept at night, only one voice was echoing in my mind again and again, Banke Bihari Lal Ki Jai, which was written on your car.  The words Banke Bihari Lal ki Jai written with sandalwood kept appearing in front of my eyes the whole night.

Throughout the night I felt so restless that when I woke up in the morning, I felt that this car did not belong to an ordinary man, and I could see it again and again, Banke Bihari Lal ki Jai, the same words were echoing in my ears.

Then I picked up the car, decorated it with flowers and put it in front of your house thinking it to be Thakur ji's car.  After this I vowed that I will never steal again for the rest of my life.

Will always go to visit Banke Bihari, because God is still there, and will always be.  In the end he wrote that I am sorry friend, and after reading this both the husband and wife had tears in their eyes.

The children squealed with joy seeing the car.  By writing Banke Bihari Lal Ki Jai on the car, Goswami ji had said that this car is lucky for you, it turned out to be lucky not only for him but also for the thief, whose life also changed with the grace of Banke Bihari ji.

We learn from this true story that if we have strong faith in God, we have deep love for him, then he always keeps all our things safe.  God is always with us, he listens to everything we say to him, and whatever is good for us, he definitely gives us.

If we are ever in a big trouble, He can easily solve that problem too, just in times of trouble, we should not get distracted and trust God and find the solution to that problem nearby.

पापमोचनी एकादशी व्रत कथा

ब्रम्हांड पुराण में ये वर्णन आता है कि एक बार युधिष्ठिर महाराज भगवान श्री कृष्ण से पूछते हैं कि चैत्र मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी की क्या महिमा है, और इस एकादशी का नाम क्या है।

           तब भगवान श्री कृष्ण युधिष्ठिर से कहते हैं कि हे राजन् जगत के कल्याण हेतु , और सभी जीवों के कल्याण हेतु मैं आपको इस एकादशी की महिमा को बता रहा हूं। चैत्र मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की इस एकादशी का नाम पापमोचनी एकादशी है, इस व्रत के प्रभाव से मनुष्य के सभी पापों का नाश होता है।

          यह सब व्रतों से उत्तम व्रत है, इस पापमोचनी एकादशी के सुनने और पढ़ने से मनुष्य के सभी पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं। एक समय देवर्षि नारद जी ने जगत पिता ब्रम्हा जी से कहा कि महाराज आप मुझसे चैत्र मास की कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी का विधान कहिए।

             इस पर ब्रम्हा जी ने कहा कि हे नारद चैत्र मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी पापमोचनी एकादशी के रूप में मनाई जाती है। इस दिन भगवान विष्णु का पूजन किया जाता है। इसकी कथा के अनुसार प्राचीन काल में चैत्ररथ नामक रमणीक वन था। इस वन में देवराज इन्द्र गंधर्व कन्याओं, अप्सराओं तथा देवताओं सहित स्वछंद विहार करते थे।

                यही वो वन था जहां च्यवन ऋषि के पुत्रमेधावी तपस्या करते थे, जो शिव जी के परम भक्त थे। अप्सराएं काम देव की अनुचरी थी, और काम देव शिव जी के विद्रोही थे। इस वजह से शिव जी से बदला लेने के लिए काम देव ने एक अप्सरा से उनका  ध्यान भंग करने को कहा। इस काम को करने के लिए काम देव ने मंजू घोषा नामक अप्सरा को कहा।

                     मंजू घोषा ने अपने हाव भाव और नृत्य से ऋषि का ध्यान भंग कर दिया, और ऋषि मंजू घोषा के प्रेम में पड़ गए। धीरे धीरे दोनों जगह जगह घूमने लगे, उन दोनों को रात दिन का भी ध्यान नहीं रहा। एक दिन मंजू घोषा ने ऋषि से देवलोक जाने की अनुमति मांगी। उसके द्वारा आज्ञा मांगने पर मुनि को आत्मज्ञान हुआ और,ये एहसास हुआ कि मुझे रसातल में पहुंचाने का एक मात्र कारण ये अप्सरा मंजू घोषा है ।

                 इसलिए क्रोधित होकर उन्होेंने मंजू घोषा को पिशाचिनी होने का श्राप दे दिया। श्राप सुनकर मंजू घोषा ने कांपते हुए हाथ जोड़कर ऋषि से अपने श्राप से मुक्ति का उपाय पूछा। तब ऋषि ने उसे पापमोचनी एकादशी व्रत रखने को कहा ।

             मेधावी ऋषि जब वापस आश्रम पहुंचे तो उन्होंने अपने पिता च्यवन ऋषि को सारी बात बताई। च्यवन ऋषि ने कहा कि तुमने मंजू घोषा को श्राप देकर खुद को भी पाप का भागी बना लिया है, और अगर तुम्हें अपने पाप खत्म करने हैं तो तुम्हें भी पापमोचनी एकादशी का व्रत रखना होगा।

                तब मेधावी ऋषि ने भी पापमोचनी एकादशी का व्रत रखा, और इस प्रकार ऋषि के पाप नष्ट हुए। इस व्रत को करने से ही मंजू घोषा को पिशाच योनि से मुक्ति मिली, और अपने पूर्व स्वरूप को प्राप्त कर वह सवर्ग लोक को चली गई। यह कथा इस बात का प्रमाण है कि इस व्रत को करने से मनुष्य के सारे पाप नष्ट होते हैं।

              ब्रम्हा जी नारद जी से कहते हैं कि हे नारद जो भी मनुष्य इस व्रत को नियम पूर्वक करेगा उसके सारे पाप नष्ट हो जाएंगे। जो कोई भी इस व्रत के महात्म्य को पढ़ता या सुनता है उसको सारे संकटों से मुक्ति मिल जाती है।

              इतना कह कर भगवान श्री कृष्ण कहते हैं ,कि जो भी मनुष्य इस व्रत की कथा को पढ़ता है या सुनता है उसे एक हजार गाय दान करने का फल प्राप्त होता है।

            इस दिन सुबह जल्दी उठ कर स्नान आदि करके भगवान विष्णु की धूप दीप और नैवेद्य से पूजा करनी चाहिए। पूरे दिन भगवान की सुंदर लीलाओं का श्रवण करना चाहिए और, अधिक से अधिक हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करना चाहिए ।

It is described in the Brahmanda Purana that once Yudhishthira Maharaj asked Lord Shri Krishna what is the glory of Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month, and what is the name of this Ekadashi.

Then Lord Shri Krishna tells Yudhishthira that O king, for the welfare of the world, and for the welfare of all living beings, I am telling you the glory of this Ekadashi.  The name of this Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month is Papmochani Ekadashi, with the effect of this fast all the sins of man are destroyed.

This is the best fast among all fasts, all the sins of a man are destroyed by listening and reading this Papmochani Ekadashi.  Once upon a time Devarshi Narad ji said to Jagat Pita Brahma ji that Maharaj, you tell me the law of Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month.

On this Brahma ji said that O Narad, the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month is celebrated as Papmochani Ekadashi.  Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day.  According to its story, in ancient times there was a beautiful forest named Chaitrarath.  In this forest, Devraj Indra Gandharva along with girls, apsaras and deities used to do swachhand vihar.

This was the forest where Medhavi, the son of Rishi Chyavan, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, used to do penance.  Apsaras were followers of Kama Dev, and Kama Dev was a rebel of Shiva.  Because of this, in order to take revenge on Shiva, Kamdev asked an Apsara to distract him.  Kamdev asked an Apsara named Manju Ghosha to do this work.

Manju Ghosha distracted the sage with her gestures and dance, and the sage fell in love with Manju Ghosha.  Slowly both started roaming around, both of them didn't even care about day and night.  One day Manju Ghosha asked the sage for permission to go to Devlok.  On seeking permission from him, the sage attained enlightenment and realized that the Apsara Manju Ghosha was the only reason for taking me to the abyss.

That's why he got angry and cursed Manju Ghosha to be a vampire.  Hearing the curse, Manju Ghosha tremblingly asked the sage with folded hands the solution to get rid of her curse.  Then the sage asked him to observe the Papmochani Ekadashi fast.

When Medhavi Rishi returned to the ashram, he told the whole thing to his father Chyavan Rishi.  Chyawan Rishi said that by cursing Manju Ghosha, you have made yourself a part of sin, and if you want to end your sins, then you will also have to fast on Papmochani Ekadashi.

Then the meritorious sage also observed the fast of Papmochani Ekadashi, and thus the sins of the sage were destroyed.  It was only by observing this fast that Manju Ghosha got freedom from the vampire vagina, and after attaining her former form, she went to heaven.  This story is proof that by observing this fast all the sins of a man are destroyed.

Brahma ji tells Narad ji that O Narad, whoever observes this fast regularly, all his sins will be destroyed.  Whoever reads or listens to the greatness of this fast, he gets freedom from all troubles.

Having said this, Lord Shri Krishna says that whoever reads or listens to the story of this fast gets the result of donating one thousand cows.

On this day, one should wake up early in the morning and take bath etc. and worship Lord Vishnu with incense lamp and naivedya.  One should listen to the beautiful pastimes of the Lord throughout the day and chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra more and more.

श्रीमद् भगवद्गीता के अध्याय 7 से लिया गया श्लोक संख्या 23

अन्तवत्तु फलं तेषां तद्भवत्यल्पमेधसाम्।

देवान्देवयजो यान्ति मद्भक्ता यान्ति मामपि।।23।।

 यहां भगवान कहते हैं कि अल्प बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं, और उन्हें प्राप्त होने वाले फल सीमित तथा क्षणिक होते हैं। देवताओं की पूजा करने वाले देवलोक को जाते हैं, किंतु मेरे भक्त अंत में मेरे परम धाम को प्राप्त होते हैं।

तात्पर्य  : भगवद्गीता के कुछ भाष्यकार कहते हैं कि देवता की पूजा करने वाला व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के पास पहुंच सकता है, किंतु यहां यह स्पष्ट कहा गया है कि देवताओं के उपासक भिन्न लोक को जाते हैं, जहां विभिन्न देवता स्थित हैं - ठीक उसी प्रकार जिस प्रकार सूर्य की उपासना करने वाला सूर्य को या चंद्रमा का उपासक चंद्रमा को प्राप्त होता है।

                इसी प्रकार यदि कोई इंद्र जैसे देवता की पूजा करना चाहता है,तो उसे पूजे जाने वाले उसी देवता का लोक प्राप्त होता है। ऐसा नहीं है कि किसी भी देवता की पूजा करने से भगवान को प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। यहां यह स्पष्ट कहा गया है कि देवताओं के उपासक भौतिक जगत के अन्य लोकों को जाते हैं, किंतु भगवान का भक्त भगवान के ही परमधाम को जाता है।

            अब यहां यह प्रश्न उठाया जा सकता है कि यदि विभिन्न देवता परमेश्वर के शरीर के विभिन्न अंग हैं,तो उन सबकी पूजा करने से एक ही जैसा फल मिलना चाहिए। किंतु देवताओं के उपासक अल्पज्ञ होते हैं, क्योंकि वे यह नहीं जानते कि शरीर के किस अंग को भोजन दिया जाय। उनमें से कुछ तो इतने मूर्ख होते हैं कि वे यह दावा करते हैं कि अंग अनेक हैं, अतः भोजन देने के ढंग अनेक हैं। किंतु यह उचित नहीं है, क्या कोई कानों या आंखों से शरीर को भोजन पहुंचा सकता है?

                  वे यह नहीं जानते कि वे देवता भगवान के विराट शरीर के विभिन्न अंग हैं, और वे अपने अज्ञान वश यह विश्वास कर बैठते हैं कि प्रत्येक देवता पृथक ईश्वर है, तथा परमेश्वर का प्रतियोगी है।

                  न केवल सारे देवता, अपितु सामान्य जीव भी परमेश्वर के अंश हैं। श्रीमद्भागवत में कहा गया है कि ब्राह्मण परमेश्वर के सिर हैं, क्षत्रिय उनकी बाहें हैं, वैश्य उनकी कटि तथा शुद्र उनके पांव हैं, और इन सबके अलग अलग कार्य हैं। यदि कोई देवताओं को या अपने आपको परमेश्वर का अंश मानता है, तो उसका ज्ञान पूर्ण है। किंतु यदि वह इसे नहीं समझता तो उसे भिन्न लोकों की प्राप्ति होती है, जहां देवतागण निवास करते हैं। यह वह गंतव्य नहीं है, जहां भक्तगण जाते हैं।

             देवताओं से प्राप्त वर नाशवान होते हैं, क्योंकि इस भौतिक जगत के भीतर सारे लोक, सारे देवता तथा उनके सारे उपासक नाशवान हैं। अतः इस श्लोक में यह स्पष्ट कहा गया है कि ऐसे देवताओं की उपासना से प्राप्त होने वाले सारे फल नाशवान होते हैं, अतः ऐसी पूजा केवल अल्पज्ञों द्वारा की जाती है। चूंकि परमेश्वर की भक्ति में कृष्णभावनामृत में संलग्न व्यक्ति ज्ञान से पूर्ण दिव्य आनंदमय लोक की प्राप्ति करता है, अतः उसकी तथा देवताओं की सामान्य उपलब्धियां पृथक पृथक होती हैं। परमेश्वर असीम हैं, उनका अनुग्रह अनंत है, उनकी दया भी अनंत है। अतः परमेश्वर की अपने शुद्ध भक्तों पर कृपा भी असीम होती है।

         भगवद्गीता के इस श्लोक से यह निष्कर्ष निकलता है कि भगवान केवल और केवल श्री कृष्ण हैं, और सभी देवी देवता उनके अलग अलग अंगों से निकले उनके पार्षद हैं। अतः यहां भगवान ने स्पष्ट ही कहा है कि केवल मेरी पूजा करने से तुम अंत में मेरे धाम को प्राप्त होगे, और जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र से हमेशा के लिए मुक्ति पा लोगे।अलग अलग देवी देवता की पूजा करने वाले अलग अलग देवताओं को प्राप्त होते हैं,और वे बार बार जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र में फंसे रहते हैं। अतः हमें केवल श्री कृष्ण की पूजा करना चाहिए, जिससे अंत में हमें जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र से छुटकारा मिल कर भगवद्धाम की प्राप्ति होगी।

Antavattu phalam Teshan Tadbhavatyalpamedhasam.

Devandevayjo yanti madbhakta yanti mampi..23.

Here the Lord says that persons with little intelligence worship the demigods, and the fruits they get are limited and temporary.  Those who worship the deities go to the heavenly planets, but my devotees finally reach my abode.

PURPORT Some commentators on Bhagavad-gita say that one who worships the demigods can reach the Supreme Lord, but it is clearly stated here that the worshipers of the demigods go to different planets where the different demigods are situated - just as  The worshiper of the Sun gets the Sun or the worshiper of the Moon gets the Moon.

Similarly if one wants to worship a deity like Indra, he gets the world of the deity he worshipped.  It is not that God can be attained by worshiping any deity.  It is clearly stated here that the worshipers of the demigods go to other planets in the material world, but the devotee of the Lord goes to the Supreme Abode of the Lord.

Now the question may be raised here that if the different deities are different parts of the body of the Supreme Lord, then worshiping all of them should yield the same result.  But the worshipers of the deities are ignorant because they do not know which part of the body should be fed.  Some of them are so foolish that they claim that since there are many organs, there are many ways of giving food.  But this is not proper, can one deliver food to the body through the ears or the eyes?

They do not know that those demigods are different parts of the universal body of the Lord, and out of their ignorance they believe that each demigod is a separate God, and a competitor of the Supreme Lord.

Not only all the demigods, but even the ordinary living entities are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord.  The Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam states that the Brahmins are the head of the Supreme Lord, the Kshatriyas are His arms, the Vaishyas are His waist and the Shudras are His feet, and all of them have different functions.  If one considers the demigods or himself to be part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, then his knowledge is complete.  But if he does not understand this, he attains different worlds, where the gods reside.  This is not the destination where the devotees go.

The boons obtained from the demigods are perishable, because within this material world all the planets, all the demigods and all their worshipers are perishable.  Therefore, it is clearly stated in this verse that all the fruits obtained from the worship of such deities are perishable, therefore such worship is done only by the less intelligent.  Since a person engaged in Kṛṣṇa consciousness in the devotional service of the Supreme Lord attains the transcendental blissful world full of knowledge, his general achievements and those of the demigods are separate.  God is infinite, His grace is infinite, His mercy is also infinite.  Therefore, the grace of the Supreme Lord on His pure devotees is also limitless.

From this verse of the Bhagavad Gita it is concluded that the Lord is one and only Sri Krishna, and all the demigods are His associates emanating from His different parts.  So here the Lord has clearly said that only by worshiping Me you will finally attain My abode, and will be freed from the cycle of birth and death forever.  and they are trapped in the cycle of birth and death again and again.  Therefore, we should worship only Shri Krishna, so that in the end we will get rid of the cycle of birth and death and go to God's abode.

आमलकी एकादशी व्रत कथा

फाल्गुन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष में आने वाली एकादशी को आमलकी एकादशी कहते हैं। आमलकी यानी आंवला, आंवला को शास्त्रों में श्रेष्ठ स्थान प्राप्त है। भगवान श्री विष्णु ने जब श्रृष्टि की रचना के लिए ब्रम्हा जी को जन्म दिया, तो उसी समय आंवले के वृक्ष की भी धरती पर उत्पत्ति की।

                     आंवले को भगवान विष्णु ने आदि वृक्ष के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित किया है। इसके हर अंग में ईश्वर का स्थान माना गया है। एक समय राजा मान्धाता वशिष्ट मुनि से बोले कि हे मुनि यदि आप मुझ पर कृपा करें तो किसी ऐसे व्रत की कथा कहिए, जिससे मेरा कल्याण हो।

                      इस पर वशिष्ट मुनि बोले कि हे राजन सब व्रतों से उत्तम, और मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाली आमलकी एकादशी के व्रत का मैं वर्णन करता हूं। यह एकादशी फाल्गुन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष में आती है। इस व्रत के करने से सभी पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं। इस व्रत का फल एक हजार गौ दान के फल के बराबर होता है।

                      अब मैं आपसे इस व्रत की एक पौराणिक कथा कहता हूं, जिसे आप ध्यान पूर्वक सुनिए। वैदिश नाम का एक नगर था,जिसमे ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय, वैश्य और शूद्र चारों वर्ण आनंद पूर्वक रहते थे। उस नगर में सदैव वेद ध्वनि गूंजा करती थी, पापी, दुराचारी और नास्तिक यहां कोई नहीं रहते थे।

                    उस नगर में जयद्रथ नाम का चंद्रवंशी राजा राज्य करता था। वह अत्यंत विद्वान तथा धर्म परायण था।इस नगर में कोई भी व्यक्ति दरिद्र तथा कंजूस नहीं था। सभी नगरवासी भगवान विष्णु की भक्ति किया करते थे। बूढ़े, जवान तथा बालक सभी एकादशी का व्रत किया करते थे।

                   एक समय फाल्गुन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की आमलकी एकादशी आई, उस दिन राजा, प्रजा तथा बालक, वृद्ध सभी ने नियमपूर्वक एकादशी का व्रत किया। राजा अपने प्रजा के साथ मंदिर में जाकर पूर्ण कुंभ स्थापित करके धूप, दीप ,नैवेद्य तथा पंच रत्न आदि से आंवले के वृक्ष की पूजा और स्तुति करने लगे।

                   उस मंदिर में रात को सभी ने जागरण किया, रात के समय वहां एक बहेलिया आया। वह महापापी तथा दुराचारी था। अपने परिवार का पालन वह जीव हत्या करके किया करता था। उस समय वह भूख प्यास से अत्यंत व्याकुल था, अतः मंदिर में शायद खाने को कुछ मिल जाए इस इक्षा से वह मंदिर के एक कोने में बैठ गया।

                      वहां बैठ कर वह भगवान विष्णु की कथा, तथा एकादशी माहात्म्य को सुनने लगा। इस प्रकार उस बहेलिए ने मंदिर में बैठे हुए अन्य लोगों के साथ सारी रात जागरण किया और कथा सुनी। प्रातः काल सभी लोग अपने अपने घर को चले गए, और उसी प्रकार वह बहेलिया भी अपने घर गया, तथा घर जाकर उसने भोजन किया।

                   कुछ समय बीतने के बाद उस बहेलिए की मृत्यु हो गई। उसने जीव हत्या की थी इस कारण वह घोर नरक का भागी था, परंतु उस दिन अंजाने में की हुई आमलकी एकादशी व्रत और जागरण के प्रभाव से उसने राजा विदुरत के यहां जन्म लिया।

                  उसका नाम वसुरथ रखा गया। बड़ा होने पर वह चतुरंगिनी सेना सहित तथा धन धान्य से युक्त होकर दस सहस्त्र ग्रामों का संचालन करने लगा। वह अत्यंत धार्मिक, सत्यवादी, कर्मवीर और विष्णु भक्त था। वह प्रजा का समान भाव से पालन करता था। दान देना उसका नित्य कर्म था।

                 एक बार राजा वसुरथ शिकार खेलने के लिए वन में गया, दैव योग से वह वन में रास्ता भटक गया, और दिशा का ज्ञान न होने के कारण वह उसी वन में एक वृक्ष के नीचे सो गया। कुछ समय पश्चात वहां पहाड़ी डाकू आ गए, और राजा को अकेला देख कर मारो मारो चिल्लाते हुए राजा की ओर दौड़ पड़े।

                      वे डाकू कहने लगे कि इस दुष्ट राजा ने हमारे माता, पिता, पुत्र, पौत्र आदि समस्त संबंधियों को मारा है, तथा देश से हमें निकाल दिया है, अब हमें इसे मार कर अपने अपमान का बदला लेना चाहिए। उसी समय राजा के शरीर से एक दिव्य देवी प्रकट हुई। वह देवी अत्यंत सुंदर थी, तथा सुंदर वस्त्रों तथा आभूषणों से सुसज्जित थी।

                   उसकी भृकुटी टेढ़ी थी, उसकी आंखों से क्रोध की भीषण लपटें निकल रही थी। उस समय वह काल के समान प्रतीत हो रही थी। उसने देखते ही देखते उन डाकुओं के समूह को नष्ट कर दिया। नींद से जागने पर राजा ने अनेक डाकुओं को वहां मृत पाया। राजा सोचने लगा कि किसने इन्हें मारा है,और इस वन में कौन मेरा हितैसी रहता है?

                  राजा ऐसा सोच ही रहा था कि तभी आकाशवाणी हुई, कि हे राजन इस संसार में भगवान विष्णु के अतिरिक्त तेरी रक्षा कौन कर सकता है? इस आकाशवाणी को सुनकर राजा ने भगवान विष्णु को स्मरण कर उन्हें प्रणाम किया। राजा अपने नगर को लौट आया और सुखपूर्वक राज्य करने लगा , और अंत में वह वैकुंठ धाम को  गया।

                 इस प्रकार  वशिष्ट मुनि ने राजा मान्धाता से कहा कि जो कोई भी इस आमलकी एकादशी के व्रत को नियम पूर्वक करता है उसे अंत में अवश्य ही वैकुंठ की प्राप्ति होती है। आमलकी एकादशी के पहले दशमी की रात्रि में व्रत करने वाले को एकादशी व्रत के साथ भगवान विष्णु का ध्यान करते हुए सोना चाहिए।

               आमलकी एकादशी के दिन सुबह स्नान आदि करके भगवान विष्णु की धूप दीप और नैवेद्य आदि से पूजन करें, तथा भगवान से प्रार्थना करें कि वो हमारे एकादशी व्रत को अच्छी तरह पूरी करने की हमें शक्ति दें। भगवान की पूजा के पश्चात पूजन सामग्री लेकर आंवले के वृक्ष की विधि पूर्वक पूजा करें।

                 एकादशी के दिन अधिक से अधिक भगवान की सुंदर लीलाओं का श्रवण करें, भगवान का कीर्तन करें, और हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का कम से कम सोलह  अथवा 25 माला का जप अवश्य करें। द्वादशी के दिन ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराएं और उन्हें कुछ दक्षिणा देकर फिर व्रत का पारण करें।

     The Ekadashi that falls in the Shukla Paksha of Falgun month is called Amal Ekadashi.  Amalaki means Amla, Amla gets the best place in the scriptures.  When Lord Shri Vishnu gave birth to Lord Brahma to create the universe, at the same time the Amla tree also originated on earth.

  Amla has been revered by Lord Vishnu as the primordial tree.  God's place is considered in every part of it.  Once upon a time, Mandhata said to Vashisht Muni that O Muni, if you have mercy on me, then tell the story of such a fast, which will be beneficial for me.

  On this Vashisht Muni said that O Rajan, I describe the fast of Amal Ekadashi, the best of all fasts, and which gives salvation.  This Ekadashi appears in the Shukla Paksha of Falgun month.  By observing this fast all the sins are destroyed.  The fruit of this fast is equal to the fruit of donating one thousand cows.

  Now let me tell you a mythological story of this fast, which you should listen carefully.  There was a city named Vaidish, in which Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras lived around Varna Anand carefully.  In that city, the sound of Vedas always resounded, sinners, miscreants and atheists did not live here.         

    A Chandravanshi king named Jayadratha used to rule in that city.  He was very learned and pious. No person in this city was poor or stingy.  All the townspeople used to worship Lord Vishnu.  Old, young and children all used to fast on Ekadashi.

Once upon a time, Amalaki Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month came, on that day the king, the subjects and the children, the elders all observed Ekadashi fast according to the rules.  The king went to the temple with his subjects and established a complete Kumbh and started worshiping and praising the Amla tree with incense, lamp, naivedya and five gems etc.

Everyone kept awake in that temple at night, a fowler came there at night.  He was a great sinner and a miscreant.  He used to take care of his family by killing animals.  At that time he was extremely distraught with hunger and thirst, so he sat in a corner of the temple with the hope that he might get something to eat in the temple.

Sitting there, he started listening to the story of Lord Vishnu and the greatness of Ekadashi.  In this way, the fowler kept vigil all night with other people sitting in the temple and listened to the story.  In the morning all the people went to their respective homes, and in the same way the fowler also went to his house, and after going home he had food.         

After some time the fowler died.  He had killed a living being, that is why he was a part of the severe hell, but on that day, due to the effect of Amalaki Ekadashi fasting and awakening, he was born in the place of King Vidurat.

 He was named Vasurath.  When he grew up, he started running ten thousand villages with Chaturangini army and equipped with money grains.  He was very religious, truthful, Karmaveer and Vishnu devotee.  He used to follow the subjects equally.  Giving charity was his daily duty.

 Once King Vasurath went to the forest to play hunting, due to divine yoga he lost his way in the forest, and due to lack of knowledge of the direction, he slept under a tree in the same forest.  After some time the hill bandits came there, and seeing the king alone, ran towards the king shouting 'Maro Maro'.

 Those robbers started saying that this evil king has killed all our relatives like mother, father, son, grandson etc., and has driven us out of the country, now we should avenge our insult by killing him.  At the same time a divine goddess appeared from the king's body.  That goddess was very beautiful, and was adorned with beautiful clothes and ornaments.

His brows were crooked, fierce flames of anger were coming out of his eyes.  At that time she seemed like time.  He destroyed those group of dacoits in no time.  On waking up from sleep, the king found many dacoits dead there.  The king started thinking who killed him, and who lives well in this forest?

 The king was thinking like this that only then there was a voice in the sky, that O king, who can protect you in this world except Lord Vishnu?  After listening to this Akashvani, the king remembered Lord Vishnu and bowed down to him.  The king returned to his city and ruled happily, and at last he went to Vaikunth Dham.

 In this way Vashisht Muni told King Mandhata that whoever observes the fast of this Amalaki Ekadashi regularly will definitely attain Vaikuntha in the end.  One who fasts on the first Dashami night of Amalaki Ekadashi should go to sleep meditating on Lord Vishnu along with Ekadashi fast.

 On the day of Amalaki Ekadashi, take bath etc. in the morning and worship Lord Vishnu with incense, lamp and naivedya etc., and pray to God to give us the strength to complete our Ekadashi fast.  After worshiping God, worship the Amla tree with the worship material.

 On the day of Ekadashi, listen to God's beautiful pastimes as much as possible, do kirtan of God, and chant at least sixteen or 25 rounds of the Hare Krishna mahamantra.  On the day of Dwadashi, feed the Brahmins and give them some dakshina and then break the fast.
