युक्त: कर्मफलं त्यक्तवा शान्तिमाप्नोति नैष्ठिकीम्।अयुक्त: कामकारेण फले सक्तो निबध्यते।।12।।
अनुवाद श्रील प्रभुपाद के द्वारा : निश्चल भक्त शुद्ध शान्ति प्राप्त , है, क्योंकि वह समस्त कर्म फल मुझे अर्पित कर देता है, किन्तु जो व्यक्ति भगवान से युक्त नहीं है, और जो अपने श्रम का फलकामी है,वह बंध जाता है।
तात्पर्य : एक कृष्ण भावनाभावित व्यक्ति तथा एक देहात्म बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति में यह अंतर है कि कृष्ण भावनाभावित व्यक्ति कृष्ण के प्रति आसक्त रहता है, जबकि देहात्म बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति अपने कर्मों के फल के प्रति आसक्त रहता है।
जो व्यक्ति कृष्ण के प्रति आसक्त रह कर उन्हीं के लिए कर्म करता है , अर्थात जो व्यक्ति अपने सारे कर्म कृष्ण की प्रसन्नता के लिए करता है,वह निश्चय ही मुक्त पुरुष है, और उसे अपने कर्म फल की कोई भी चिंता नहीं होती है।
भागवत में किसी कर्म के फल की चिंता का कारण परम सत्य के ज्ञान के बिना द्वैत भाव में रह कर कर्म करना बताया गया है। कृष्ण श्रीभगवान हैं। कृष्ण भावनामृत में कोई द्वैत नहीं रहता है।
जो कुछ विद्यमान है,वह कृष्ण की शक्ति का प्रतिफल है, और कृष्ण सर्वमंगलमय हैं। अतः कृष्ण भावनामृत में सम्पन्न सारे कार्य परम पद पर हैं, तथा वे दिव्य होते हैं और उनका कोई भौतिक प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता।
इस कारण कृष्ण भावनामृत में जीव का अपने मन पर पूरी तरह से नियंत्रण रहता है, और वह हमेशा शांति से परिपूर्ण रहता है। किन्तु जो व्यक्ति इन्द्रिय तृप्ति के लाभ के लोभ में फंसा रहता है, उसे शांति नहीं मिल सकती।यही कृष्ण भावनामृत का रहस्य है, और यह अनुभूति कि कृष्ण के अतिरिक्त और कुछ भी नहीं है, शांति तथा अभय का पद है।
श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता का यह श्लोक हमें यह समझाता है कि कृष्ण भावनाभावित व्यक्ति तथा देहात्म बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति में क्या अंतर है?एक कृष्ण भावनाभावित व्यक्ति हमेशा जो भी कर्म करता है वह कृष्ण की प्रसन्नता के लिए करता है अर्थात वह जो भी कर्म करता है उसे कृष्ण को समर्पित कर देता है और उस कर्म के फल से भी उसे तनिक भी आसक्ति नहीं रहती है, और वहीं दूसरी तरफ देहात्म बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति जो भी कर्म करता है वह उस कर्म को अपने इन्द्रिय तृप्ति के लिए करता है, और वह उसके फल के प्रति बहुत आसक्त रहता है । कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि कृष्ण भावनाभावित व्यक्ति यह भली भांति जानता है कि सब कुछ कृष्ण का है और जो कुछ भी हो रहा है वह कृष्ण की ईच्छा से हो रहा है, और अपने आपको वह हमेशा कृष्ण का दाश मानता है,इसलिए वह हमेशा खुश रहता है और उसे किसी प्रकार का भय नहीं रहता, वहीं दूसरी तरफ देहात्म बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति अपने कर्मों के फल के प्रति आसक्त रह कर हमेशा चिंतित और दुःखी रहते हैं, क्योंकि उन्हें लगता है कि जो कुछ भी हो रहा है उसे वह स्वयं कर रहे हैं और वे अपने आपको ही मालिक मान बैठते हैं, अर्थात वे अपने प्रत्येक कर्म को भौतिक स्तर पर करते हैं।
Yuktah karmphalam tyktva shantimapnoti naishthikim
Ayuktah kamkaren phale sakto nibadhyate ।।12।।
Translation by Srila Prabhupada : The unshakeable devotee is in pure peace because he surrenders all his fruition to Me. But one who is not attached to the Lord and desires the fruits of his labor is bound.
Purport : The difference between a Krsna conscious person and a bodily conscious person is that the Krsna conscious person is attached to Krsna, while the bodily conscious person is attached to the fruits of his activities.
The person who acts for Krsna while being attached to Him, that is, one who acts for the pleasure of Krsna, is certainly a liberated person and has no anxiety about the fruits of his activities.
The reason for anxiety about the fruits of one's activities is stated in the Bhagavata as acting in a dualistic way without the knowledge of the Absolute Truth. Krsna is the Lord. There is no duality in Krsna consciousness.
All that exists is the result of Krsna's energy, and Krsna is all-auspicious. Therefore, all activities performed in Krsna consciousness are in the highest position, and they are transcendental and have no material effect.
Therefore, a living being in Krsna consciousness has full control over his mind, and he is always full of peace. But a person who is caught in the greed for sense gratification cannot have peace. This is the secret of Krsna consciousness, and the realization that there is nothing but Krsna is the position of peace and fearlessness.
This verse of Srimad Bhagavad Gita explains to us what is the difference between a Krishna conscious person and a bodily minded person? A Krishna conscious person always does whatever action he does for the pleasure of Krishna, that is, he dedicates whatever action he does to Krishna and he does not have any attachment to the fruit of that action, while on the other hand, whatever action a bodily minded person does, he does it for sense gratification and he is very attached to the fruit of that action. That is to say, a Krishna conscious person knows very well that everything belongs to Krishna and whatever is happening is happening by the will of Krishna, and he always considers himself as a slave of Krishna, so he is always happy and has no fear of any kind, on the other hand, a person with embodied consciousness is always worried and unhappy being attached to the results of his actions, because he feels that whatever is happening is being done by him and he considers himself as the master, that is, he does every action of his at the material level.
