भगवान के प्रति पूरी तरह शरणागत होकर किसी प्रकार का भय नहीं रहता।

अगर हम पूरी तरह से भगवान के प्रति शरणागत हो जाते हैं तो हमारे अंदर किसी प्रकार का भय नहीं रहता है, क्योंकि हमें पूरा विश्वास होता है कि भगवान हर संकट से हमारी रक्षा करेंगे। जो पूरी तरह से भगवान का भक्त हैं उसे किसी भी प्रकार का भय नहीं रहता।

 परंतु यदि हमारे अंदर किसी प्रकार का भय है तो इसका मतलब यह है कि हमने अपने आपको पूरी तरह भगवान को शरणागत नहीं किया है। इसका मतलब हमारे अंदर श्रद्धा की कमी है, और हमें पूरी तरह से भगवान के उपर भरोसा नहीं है।

इसका एक उदाहरण श्रीमद्भागवतम् से लिया गया भगवान श्री कृष्ण के बहुत ही सुंदर कथा से मिलता है। अपने बाल्यकाल में एक दिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण अपने बाल सखाओं के साथ खेल रहे थे, खेलते खेलते उन्हें बहुत देर हो गई और वो अपने घर से बहुत दूर घने जंगलों में चले गए।

श्री कृष्ण को बहुत जोरों की भूख लगी थी, उन्होंने देखा कि जहां पर वो खेल रहे थे उससे थोड़ी दूर पर कुछ ब्राह्मण यज्ञ कर रहे थे। श्री कृष्ण ने अपने सखाओं से कहा कि मित्र उन ब्राह्मणों से जाकर कहो कि कृष्ण आए हैं उन्हें भूख लगी है आप कुछ भोजन का प्रबंध कर दो, फिर श्री कृष्ण ने कहा कि नहीं नहीं मेरा नाम मत कहना शायद वो ग्वाला समझकर भोजन देने से मना कर दें।

उनसे कहना कि बलराम आए हैं क्योंकि बलराम क्षत्रिय हैं तो वो ब्राह्मण उनकी मदद अवश्य करेंगे।

         ग्वाल बाल गए ब्राह्मणों के पास मांगने के लिए लेकिन कोई भी ब्राह्मण उनकी बातों पर ध्यान नहीं दे रहे थे बल्कि उनकी बातों को सुनकर भी उन्हें अनसुना कर रहे थे। वे ब्राह्मण ग्वाल बालों को ऐसा प्रतीत करवा रहे थे जैसे कि वो यज्ञ में इतने मग्न हैं कि उन्हें कुछ भी सुनाई और दिखाई नहीं दे रहा है सिवाय यज्ञ के।

            ग्वाल बाल देख रहे हैं कि यही ब्राह्मण जब अपने घर अपनी पत्नियों के पास जाते हैं तो अनेक प्रकार की बातें भी करते हैं ऐसा नहीं कि केवल दिन रात भक्ति ही करते रहते हैं। परंतु उस समय दिखावे के लिए वो ऐसा कर रहे हैं जैसे कि हम बहुत ही बड़े ब्राह्मण हैं, हम यज्ञ के समय कुछ भी नहीं सुनते हैं केवल यज्ञ में डूबे रहते हैं।

ऐसा दिखावा कर रहे थे वो और ये बात समझ गए वो ग्वाल बाल और बहुत ही निराश होकर कृष्ण बलराम के पास पहुंचे। कृष्ण बलराम ने जब उन्हें इतना निराश देखा तो वे बोले कि चिंता मत करो अबकी बार तुम उन ब्राह्मणों के पास मत जाना उनकी पत्नियों के पास जाना क्योंकि वो मेरी बहुत ही अच्छी भक्त हैं।

अब वो ग्वाल बाल उनकी पत्नियों के पास जाते हैं और पत्नियों को जैसे ही पता लगता है कि कृष्ण बलराम आए हैं ये वही कृष्ण बलराम हैं जिनका हम प्रत्येक दिन ध्यान, स्मरण करते हैं और वो स्वयं चलकर आए हैं हमसे मांगने तो फिर मना करने का कोई प्रश्न ही नहीं उठता है।

जिनकी एक झलक पाने के लिए हम बेचैन थे वे आज स्वयं चलकर हमसे मांगने आए हैं अहो भाग्य है हमारा।

              ऐसा नहीं कि वो ब्राह्मण पत्नियां केवल कृष्ण बलराम के लिए दो प्लेट में भोजन लेकर जा रही थी वो तो ये सुनकर अपना सुध बुध खो बैठी थी कि कृष्ण बलराम आए हैं अतः उनके घरों में जितना कुछ भी  बना था सभी कुछ लेकर , जितना बर्तन,  जितनी हंडियां और जो कुछ भी था सभी को लेकर बेसुध होकर वो कृष्ण बलराम के पास चल पड़ी।

        ब्राह्मण देख रहे हैं कि सब कुछ लेकर ये कहां जा रही हैं, लेकिन उन्हें कुछ भी सुध बुध नहीं था क्योंकि उस समय उनके मन में  केवल कृष्ण बलराम के अलावा कुछ भी नहीं था। जब वो कृष्ण बलराम के पास पहुंची और उन्होंने उनका बनाया हुआ भोजन स्वीकार किया और फ़िर उनसे बातचीत की और फिर कृष्ण ने कहा कि अब आप सब अपने अपने घर लौट जाइए।

        जब श्री कृष्ण ने बोला कि अब आप घर जाइए तो ब्राह्मण पत्नियां डर गई कि अब हमें हमारे पति स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे , अब ये हमारा तिरस्कार कर देंगे,क्योंकी हम अपने पतियों को छोड़कर अपने गुरु को छोड़कर अपना सब कुछ छोड़कर रात के समय यहां जंगल में आए हैं तो अब ये हमें स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे।

सभी ब्राह्मण पत्नियां यही सोचकर घबरा रही थी लेकिन भगवान ने उन्हें आश्वासन दिया कि आप घबराओ मत, आप चिंता मत करो, कोई आपको दंड नहीं देगा, आपको कोई सजा नहीं मिलेगी। आप घर जाओ आपके पति आपको कुछ नहीं कहेंगे। अब इस भावना से सभी ब्राह्मण पत्नियां अपने पतियों के पास पहुंची और सभी ब्राह्मण दूर से ही देख रहे हैं कि उनकी पत्नियों के शरीर से तेज निकल रहा है और ब्राह्मण उन्हें देखकर ही समझ गए कि इनपर तो कृपा हुई है ,और हम तो स्वाहा ही करते रह गए बस, लेकिन असली कृपा की हकदार तो ये थी।

अभी ब्राह्मणों के पास पहुंची भी नहीं थी उनकी पत्नियां कि ब्राह्मणों ने दूर से ही अपनी अपनी पत्नियों को दंडवत प्रणाम किया। उन्होंने प्रणाम किया अपनी पत्नियों को जैसे कि वो सब कुछ हैं क्योंकि वो समझ गए कि हमलोग तो कृष्ण को समझ ही नहीं पाए स्वयं कृष्ण आए , भक्त आए उनके संदेश को लेकर लेकिन हमने उनका तिरस्कार कर दिया।

         हम अगर नियम से चलें तो नियम ये है कि हमेशा कृष्ण का स्मरण करना और कभी कृष्ण को ना भूलना। अगर हम कृष्ण को भूलकर कोई भी यज्ञ या पूजा पाठ करते हैं तो वो सब व्यर्थ है , बिना कृष्ण के तो जीवन व्यर्थ है। ब्राह्मण बुरी तरह से अपने आपको कोस रहे हैं कि भांड़ में गए ऐसे यज्ञ भांड़ में गई ऐसी स्तुतियां जिनके कारण हम कृष्ण को भूल गए ।

ब्राह्मण गुणगान कर रहे हैं अपनी पत्नियों का कि वो कोई शास्त्र नहीं जानती, उन्होंने कोई ट्रेनिंग नहीं लिया ना ही उन्हें कोई विधि विधान आता है परंतु वो हमसे बहुत श्रेष्ठ हैं क्योंकि उन्होंने अपने आपको पूरी तरह से कृष्ण को समर्पित कर दिया। अतः उन ब्राह्मणों ने अपनी पत्नियों को गुरु के तुल्य देखा कि ये हमारी गुरु के समान हैं।

         अब अपनी पत्नियों को गुरु मानने के कारण उनके संग से उन ब्राह्मणों के हृदय में भी कृष्ण प्रेम का बीजारोपण हो गया। अब उन ब्राह्मणों ने भी अपने आपको पूरी तरह से भगवान श्री कृष्ण को समर्पित कर दिया । ब्राह्मण ने भी सोचा कि अब हम पूरी तरह से कृष्ण के शरणागत हो जायेंगे लेकिन वो ये नहीं कर पाए क्योंकि उनके अंदर ये भय था कि अगर हम कृष्ण से मिलने गए और कंस को ये बात पता चली तो कंस हमें छोड़ेगा नहीं।

     यदि हम ब्राह्मण पत्नियों के नजर से भी देखें तो उन्हें भी इस बात का भय था कि अगर वो कृष्ण से मिलने गई तो कंस उन्हें छोड़ेगा नहीं, लेकिन ब्राह्मण पत्नियों ने पूरी तरह से कृष्ण को शरणागत किया हुआ था उनको कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता था कि उनकी मृत्यु भी आ जाए तो कोई बात नहीं,लेकिन कृष्ण की सेवा का जो अवसर उन्हें मिला है ये अवसर नहीं जाना चाहिए।

और यही असली में शरणागत का लक्षण है, यही असली में ब्रज भक्ति  का लक्षण है, और यही भक्ति की नीव है। कोई भी कारण क्यों न हो लेकिन हमें कृष्ण की सेवा से पीछे नहीं हटना है, और ये कार्य वही व्यक्ति कर सकता है जिसके अंदर किसी प्रकार का भय नहीं हो जिसने पूरी तरह से अपने आपको भगवान श्री कृष्ण को शरणागत कर रखा हो।

If we completely surrender to God, then there is no fear in us, because we have full faith that God will protect us from every crisis. One who is completely a devotee of God has no fear of any kind. But if there is any kind of fear in us, it means that we have not completely surrendered ourselves to God. It means we lack faith in us, and we don't trust God completely.

An example of this comes from the very beautiful story of Lord Krishna taken from Srimad Bhagavatam. One day in his childhood, Lord Shri Krishna was playing with his children, he got very late while playing and he went far away from his home in the dense forests.

Shri Krishna was very much 'hungry', he saw that some brahmins were performing a yajna at a distance from the place where he was playing. Shri Krishna told his friends that friends, go to those brahmins and say that Krishna has come, he is hungry, you should arrange some food, then Shri Krishna said that no, don't say my name.

Tell them that Balram has come because Balram is a Kshatriya, then those Brahmins will definitely help him.

Gwal Bal went to the Brahmins to beg, but none of the Brahmins were paying attention to their words, but listening to their words, they were ignoring them. Those brahmins were making the cowherd hair appear as if they were so engrossed in the yagya that they could not hear or see anything except the cowherd hair seeing that when these brahmins go to their homes to their wives. They also do many kinds of things, it is not that they only continue to do devotion day and night. But at that time they are doing this to pretend as if we are very big brahmins, we do not listen to anything at the time of yajna, only we are immersed in yajna.

They were pretending like this and understood this, they reached Krishna Balram very disappointed and very disappointed. When Krishna Balarama saw him so disappointed, he said that do not worry, this time you do not go to those brahmins, go to their wives because they are very good devotees of mine. Now those cowherd children go to their wives and as soon as the wives come to know that Krishna is Balarama,When they meditate, remember and they themselves have come after asking for us, then there is no question of refusing them. Those whose we were restless to get a glimpse, they themselves have come to ask us today, oh fate is ours.

It is not that those brahmin wives were going to take food in two plates only for Krishna Balarama, they had lost their mind on hearing that Krishna Balarama has come, so whatever was made in their homes, as much as utensils, Feeling indifferent about all the pots and whatever it was, she went to Krishna Balaram.

The brahmins are watching where she is going with everything, but she was not aware of anything because at that time there was nothing in her mind except Krishna Balarama. When she reached Krishna Balarama and he accepted the food cooked by him and then talked to him and then Krishna said that now all of you go back to your home.

When Shri Krishna said that now you go home, the brahmin wives were afraid that now our husbands will not accept us, now they will despise us, because we leave everything except our husbands except our guru, here at night time in the forest If I have come,All the brahmin wives were getting nervous thinking this but God assured them that you do not panic, you do not worry, no one will punish you, you will not get any punishment. You go home, your husband will not tell you anything. Now with this feeling all the brahmin wives came to their husbands and all brahmins are seeing from a distance that the radiance is coming out of their wives' bodies and brahmins understood by seeing them that they have been kind to them, and we are selfless. Just kept doing it, but it was the one who deserved the real grace.

Their wives had not even reached the brahmins yet, that brahmins bowed down to their wives from afar. He saluted his wives as if they were everything because he understood that we could not understand Krishna himself, Krishna himself came, devotees came with his message but we despised him.

If we follow the rules, then the rule is to always remember Krishna and never forget Krishna. If we do any yagya or worship by forgetting Krishna, then all that is in vain, without Krishna then life is meaningless. Brahmins are cursing themselves badly that such sacrifices went to Bhad,such souls were dirty in bhad.

And this is the sign of surrendering in reality, this is the symptom of Braj Bhakti in real, and this is the foundation of devotion. Whatever may be the reason but we should not hold back from the service of Krishna, and this work can be done only by a person who does not have any kind of fear, who has completely surrendered himself to Lord Shri Krishna.
