श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता के अध्याय 12 से लिया गया श्लोक संख्या 13

अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्र: करुण एव च ।

निर्ममो निरहंकार: समदु:खसुख: क्षमी ।।13।।

         

भगवान कहते हैं कि जो किसी से द्वेष नहीं करता है, अपितु वह सभी जीवों का दयालु मित्र है, जो अपने को स्वामी नहीं मानता है और मिथ्या तथा अहंकार से मुक्त है, जो सुख दुख में एक समान रहता है तथा सहिष्णु है ऐसा भक्त मुझे अत्यंत प्रिय है।

          तात्पर्य : भगवान इस श्लोक में शुद्ध भक्त के गुणों का वर्णन करते हैं। भगवान कहते हैं कि शुद्ध भक्त किसी भी परिस्थिति में विचलित नहीं होता है और न ही वो किसी के प्रति ईर्ष्यालु होता है।

      न वह अपने शत्रु का शत्रु बनता है, अपितु वह सोचता है कि यह व्यक्ति मेरे विगत दुष्कर्मों के कारण मेरा शत्रु बना हुआ है,अतएव विरोध करने की अपेक्षा कष्ट सहना अच्छा है।

         जब भी कोई भक्त मुसीबत में पड़ता है, तो वह सोचता है कि यह भगवान की मेरे ऊपर कृपा ही है। मुझे अपने पहले के दुष्कर्मों के अनुसार इससे कहीं अधिक कष्ट भोगना चाहिए था।

          यह तो भगवान की बहुत बड़ी कृपा है मेरे ऊपर कि मुझे मिलने वाला पूरा दण्ड मुझे नहीं मिल रहा है, उनके कृपा से बहुत थोड़ा ही दण्ड मिल रहा है।अतएव अनेक कष्टपूर्ण स्थितियों में भी वह सदैव शांत और धीर बना रहता है।

          भगवान का भक्त सदैव प्रत्येक प्राणी पर यहां तक कि अपने शत्रु पर भी दयालु बना रहता है। निर्मम का अर्थ है कि भक्त शारीरिक कष्टों को प्रधानता नहीं देते, क्योंकि वे अच्छी तरह से जानता है कि वह भौतिक शरीर नहीं है आत्मा है।

      क्योंकि भक्त अपने आप को शरीर नहीं मानता है, अतः वह मिथ्या तथा अहंकार से मुक्त रहता है, और सुख तथा दुख में  अपने आप को समभाव रखता है। ऐसे भक्त भगवान को बहुत प्रिय होते हैं।

        अर्थात् कलयुग में शुद्ध भक्ति के द्वारा भगवान को आसानी से प्राप्त किया जा सकता है, दूसरा और कोई उपाय नहीं है।

Nirmamo nirahankarah sam dukh Sukh kshmi.13.

The Lord says that one who does not hate anyone, but is a kind friend of all living beings, who does not consider himself a master and is free from falsehood and ego, who is equal in happiness and sorrow and is tolerant, such a devotee I  Very dear.

Purport: The Lord describes the qualities of a pure devotee in this verse.  The Lord says that a pure devotee does not get distracted under any circumstances, nor is he envious of anyone.

Neither does he become the enemy of his enemy, rather he thinks that this person has become my enemy because of my past misdeeds, so it is better to suffer than to oppose.

Whenever a devotee is in trouble, he thinks that it is God's mercy on me.  I should have suffered much more according to my earlier misdeeds.

It is God's great grace upon me that I am not getting the full punishment due to me, but by His grace I am getting only a little punishment. That's why he always remains calm and patient even in many painful situations.

A devotee of the Lord is always kind to every living being, even to his enemy.  Nirmam means that the devotee does not give primacy to physical sufferings, because he knows very well that he is not the material body but the soul.

Because the devotee does not consider himself to be the body, he remains free from falsehood and ego, and is equanimous in happiness and sorrow.  Such devotees are very dear to God.

That is, God can be easily attained by pure devotion in Kalyug, there is no other way.

उत्पन्ना एकादशी व्रत कथा

उत्पन्ना एकादशी का महात्म्य भविष्योत्तर पुराण में भगवान श्री कृष्ण अपने सखा अर्जुन को बताते हैं। अर्जुन ने भगवान से कहा कि हे प्रभु आपने इस एकादशी व्रत के पुण्यों को अनेक तीर्थों के पुण्य से श्रेष्ठ तथा पवित्र क्यों बताया है,यह सब आप मुझे विस्तार पूर्वक कहिए।

श्री कृष्ण बोले कि हे पार्थ सतयुग में एक महाभयंकर दैत्य हुआ था, जिसका नाम मूर था। उस दैत्य ने इंद्र आदि देवताओं पर विजय प्राप्त कर उन्हें उनके पद से हटा दिया, तब इंद्र ने भगवान भोले नाथ से प्रार्थना की कि हे भोलेनाथ हम सभी देवता मूर दैत्य से पराजित और उससे भयभीत होकर मृत्यू लोक में अपना जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे हैं। राक्षसों के भय से हम बहुत दुख और कष्ट भोग रहे हैं, मैं स्वयं बहुत भयभीत और दुखी हूं तो अन्य देवताओं की तो बात ही क्या करूं।

हे महादेव अब आप मूर दैत्य से बचने का कोई उपाय बताएं। देवराज इंद्र की प्रार्थना सुनकर भगावन भोले शंकर ने कहा कि हे देवेंद्र आप भगवान श्री हरि के पास जाईए, मधु कैटभ का संहार करने वाले भगवान विष्णु अवश्य ही देवताओं को इस भय से मुक्त करेंगे।

                 तब इंद्र सहित सभी देवताओं ने भगवान विष्णु के समक्ष उपस्थित होकर उनकी स्तुति की, और कहा कि हे तीनों लोकों के स्वामी आप स्तुति करने योग्य हैं, हम सभी देवताओं का आपको कोटि कोटि प्रणाम है। हे दैत्यों के संहारक हम आपकी शरण में हैं, कृप्या आप हमारी रक्षा करें ।हे त्रिलोकपति हम सभी दैत्यों के अत्याचार से पीड़ित होकर आपकी शरण में आए हैं। इस समय दैत्यों ने हमें स्वर्ग से निकाल दिया है और हम सभी देवता बड़ी ही दयनीय स्थिति में मृत्यू लोक में वास कर रहे हैं। अब आप ही हमारे रक्षक हैं, हमारी रक्षा कीजिए, हे जगन्नाथ हमारी रक्षा करें।

देवताओं की करुण पुकार को सुनकर भगवान श्री कृष्ण बोले कि हे देवराज इंद्र वह कौन सा दैत्य है जिसने देवताओं पर विजय प्राप्त कर स्वर्ग को जीत लिया है । भगवान विष्णु के इन स्नेहमई वचनों को सुनकर देवेंद्र बोले, कि हे प्रभु प्राचीन काल में ब्रह्मवंश में उत्पन्न नारी जंगम नामक एक राक्षस था, जिसका मूर नामक एक पुत्र है, जो चंद्रवती नामक नगर में निवास करता है ।

                उस दैत्य ने अपने बल से मृत्यू लोक और देवलोक को जीत लिया है, और सब देवताओं को देवलोक से निकाल कर अपने दैत्य कुल के असुरों को इंद्र, अग्नि, यम , वरुण, चंद्रमा आदि लोकपाल बना दिया है।वह स्वयं सूर्य बनकर पृथ्वी को तापता है और स्वयं ही मेघ बनकर जल की बारिश भी करता है।

अतः आप इस बलशाली दैत्य का संहार करके देवताओं की रक्षा करें देवेंद्र के ऐसे वचनों को सुनकर भगवान बोले, हे देवताओं मैं आपके शत्रु का शीघ्र ही संहार करूंगा आप सब इसी समय मेरे साथ चंद्रवती नगरी चलिए । देवताओं की पुकार पर भगवान विष्णु तुरंत ही उनके साथ चल दिए।

उधर दैत्य राज मूर ने अपने तेज से यह जान लिया था कि भगवान विष्णु उसके साथ युद्ध करने उसके नगर को पधार रहे हैं, अतः अपने राक्षस योद्धाओं के साथ युद्धभूमि में आकर वह भी जोर जोर से गड़जने लगा। देखते ही देखते युद्ध सुरु हो गया, युद्ध सुरु होने पर अनगिनत असुर अनेक अस्त्रों शस्त्रों को धारण कर देवताओं से युद्ध करने लगे। परंतु देवता तो पहले से ही बहुत डरे हुए थे, वे अधिक देर तक वहां टिक नहीं सके, और भाग खड़े हुए।

तब भगवान विष्णु स्वयं युद्धभूमि में आ गए, दैत्य पहले से भी ज्यादा जोश में भर कर भगवान विष्णु से युद्ध करने लगे। भगवान विष्णु शहस्त्र वर्ष तक देवताओं के लिए उस असुर से युद्ध करते रहे, परंतु अपनी दिव्य लीला वश भगवान उस असुर से जीत नहीं सके।

अंत में भगवान विष्णु शांत होकर विश्राम करने की इक्षा से बद्रिकाश्रम स्थित अड़तीस कोस लंबी एक द्वार वाली हेमवती नामक एक गुफा में प्रवेश कर गए।हे अर्जुन उस गुफा में भगवान ने शयन किया। भगवान विष्णु के पीछे वह दैत्य भी चला आया था। भगवान श्री हरि को सोता देखकर वह उन्हें मारने को तैयार हो गया। वह सोच रहा था कि मैं आज अपने सबसे बड़े शत्रु को मारकर हेमशा हमेशा के लिए आजाद हो जाऊंगा।

          परंतु उसकी यह ईक्षा पूर्ण नहीं हो सकी, क्योंकि उसी समय भगवान श्री विष्णु की देह से दिव्य वस्त्र धारण किए एक अत्यंत सुंदर कन्या उत्पन्न हुई, और उस दैत्य को ललकार कर उससे युद्ध करने लगी। उस कन्या को देखकर दैत्य को घोर आश्चर्य हुआ, और वह सोचने लगा कि ऐसी दिव्य कन्या आई कहां से है।वह असुर उस कन्या से लगातार युद्ध करता रहा , कुछ समय बाद क्रोध में आकर उस कन्या ने उस दैत्य के अस्त्र शस्त्र को टुकड़े टुकड़े कर दिए, उसका रथ तोर डाला।

अब तो उस दैत्य को बड़ा ही क्रोध आया, और वह सारी मर्यादाएं तोर कर उस कन्या से मल्ल युद्ध करने लगा। उस तेजस्वी कन्या ने उस दैत्य को धक्का मार कर उसे मूर्क्षित कर दिया, और उसके मूर्क्षा टूटने से पहले ही उसके सिर को काट कर धड़ से अलग कर दिया। वह दैत्य पृथ्वी पर गिर कर मृत्यू को प्राप्त हुआ। बांकी बचे असुर अपने राजा के ऐसे मृत्यू को देखकर पाताल लोक में भाग गए।

             भगवान विष्णु जब निद्रा से उठे तो उस दैत्य को मरा हुआ देखकर उन्हें घोर आश्चर्य हुआ, और वे सोचने लगे कि इस असुर को किसने मारा है। तब वह तेजस्वी कन्या भगवान से हाथ जोड़कर बोली कि हे जगन्नाथ यह असुर आपको मारने के लिए बहुत आतुर था, तब मैंने आपके शरीर से उत्पन्न होकर इस असुर का वध किया है। कन्या की बात सुनकर भगवान बोले कि हे कन्या तुमने इस असुर को मारा है , अतः मैं तुमसे अत्यंत प्रसन्न हूं। इसे मार कर तुमने तीनों लोकों के देवताओं को कष्ट से मुक्त किया है, इसलिए तुम अपनी ईक्षा अनुसार वरदान मांगो।

भगवान बोले मैं तुम्हारी प्रत्येक ईक्षा को पूर्ण करूंगा। हे जगत कल्याणी तुम एकादशी के दिन उत्पन्न हुई हो इसलिए तुम्हारा नाम भी एकादशी हुआ, और क्योंकि तुम मेरे ही अंश से उत्पन्न हुई हो इसलिए तुम उत्पन्ना एकादशी के नाम से जानी जाओगी।

        इस एकादशी के व्रत को निष्ठा पूर्वक करने से मनुष्य के समस्त पापों का नाश होता है,और अंत में मनुष्य भगवान के धाम को जाता है। इस दिन अधिक से अधिक भगवान की सुंदर लीलाओं का श्रवण करना चाहिए और भगवान का कीर्तन करना चाहिए।

       एकादशी के दिन अधिक से अधिक हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करें। हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे हरे राम हरे राम राम राम हरे हरे 🙏🙏🙏🙏🌺🌺🌺🌺❤️❤️❤️❤️

The greatness of Utpanna Ekadashi is told by Lord Krishna to his friend Arjuna in the Bhavishyottara Purana.  Arjun said to God that O Lord, why have you described the virtues of this Ekadashi fast as superior and sacred than the virtues of many pilgrimages, you tell me all this in detail.

Shri Krishna said that O Partha, there was a great monster in Satyug, whose name was Moor.  That demon conquered the deities like Indra and removed them from their post, then Indra prayed to Lord Bhole Nath that O Bholenath, all of us gods are living our lives in the world of death after being defeated by the Moor demon and being afraid of him.  We are suffering a lot due to the fear of demons, I myself am very scared and sad, so what to talk about other gods.

Hey Mahadev, now you tell me some solution to avoid the Moor monster.  After listening to the prayer of Devraj Indra, Lord Bhole Shankar said that O Devendra, you go to Lord Shri Hari, Lord Vishnu who killed Madhu Kaitabh will definitely free the gods from this fear.

Then all the gods including Indra appeared before Lord Vishnu and praised him, and said that O Lord of the three worlds, you are praiseworthy, we all the gods bow down to you.  Oh destroyer of the demons, we are in your refuge, please protect us. O lord of the three worlds, we all have come to your refuge suffering from the tyranny of the demons.  At this time the demons have thrown us out of heaven and all of us gods are living in the land of death in a very pitiable condition.  Now you are our protector, protect us, protect us O Jagannath.

                

  Hearing the compassionate call of the deities, Lord Shri Krishna said that O Devraj Indra, which demon is he who has conquered the heaven by conquering the deities.  Hearing these affectionate words of Lord Vishnu, Devendra said, O Lord, in ancient times there was a demon named Nari Jangam, born in the Brahma dynasty, who had a son named Moor, who resided in a city named Chandravati.

That monster has won the death world and Devlok with his strength, and by driving out all the gods from Devlok, he has made the demons of his demon clan Indra, Agni, Yama, Varun, Moon etc. as protectors.  It heats up and also rains water by itself becoming a cloud.

Therefore, you protect the gods by killing this powerful monster. Hearing such words of Devendra, God said, O gods, I will kill your enemy soon.  Lord Vishnu immediately went with them on the call of the gods.

On the other hand, the demon Raj Moor had come to know from his sharpness that Lord Vishnu was coming to his city to fight with him, so coming to the battlefield with his demon warriors, he also started thundering loudly.  As soon as the war started, when the war started, countless asuras started fighting with the gods wearing many weapons.  But the gods were already very scared, they could not stay there for long, and ran away.

Then Lord Vishnu himself came to the battlefield, the demons started fighting with Lord Vishnu with more enthusiasm than before.  Lord Vishnu continued to fight with that demon for the sake of the deities for 1000 years, but the Lord could not win over that demon by his divine leela.

At last, Lord Vishnu entered a cave named Hemvati with one gate, thirty-eight kos long, located in Badrikashram, with the desire to rest in peace. In that cave, O Arjuna, the Lord slept.  That demon had also followed Lord Vishnu.  Seeing Lord Shri Hari sleeping, he got ready to kill him.  He was thinking that by killing his biggest enemy today, he would be free forever.      

But this desire of her could not be fulfilled, because at the same time a very beautiful girl wearing divine clothes was born from the body of Lord Shri Vishnu, and challenged that demon and started fighting with him.  Seeing that girl, the demon was very surprised, and he started thinking from where did such a divine girl come. That asura continued to fight with that girl, after some time, in anger, that girl cut the weapon of that demon into pieces.  Did it, broke his chariot.

Now that monster got very angry, and breaking all the limits, he started fighting with that girl.  That dashing girl pushed the demon into a stupor, and cut off his head before he could break his stupor.  That demon fell on the earth and died.  The rest of the Asuras fled to Patal Lok after seeing such death of their king.

When Lord Vishnu woke up from sleep, he was surprised to see that demon dead, and he started thinking who had killed this demon.  Then that stunning girl said with folded hands to God, O Jagannath, this asura was very eager to kill you, then I have killed this asura by being born from your body.  After listening to the girl, God said that O girl, you have killed this demon, so I am very happy with you.  By killing him, you have freed the deities of the three worlds from suffering, so ask for a boon according to your wish.

God said I will fulfill your every wish.  O Jagat Kalyani, you were born on the day of Ekadashi, hence your name is also Ekadashi, and because you were born from my own part, you will be known as Utpanna Ekadashi.

By faithfully observing the fast of this Ekadashi, all the sins of a man are destroyed, and in the end man goes to the abode of God.  On this day, one should listen to the beautiful pastimes of God more and more and do kirtan of God.

भगवान पर हमें अपना भरोसा कभी कम नहीं होने देना चाहिए।

एक व्यक्ति जिसकी जिंदगी में सब कुछ बुरा चल रहा था, जिसको वेतन बहुत कम मिल रहा था, बहुत सारा लोन ले लिया था और चारों ओर से कर्ज़ में डूबा हुआ था। वो हमेशा बहुत परेशान रहता था, पूजा पाठ और भगवान में उसे बिल्कुल विश्वास नहीं था।

लोग उसे कई बार कहते थे कि भाई थोड़ा पूजा पाठ कर लिया करो, लेकिन वो किसी की नहीं सुनता था। एक दिन वो अपने दोस्त के साथ बैठा था, तो उसके दोस्त ने उसे सलाह दिया कि मैं जानता हूं तुम पूजा पाठ और भगवान में विश्वास नहीं करते हो, लेकिन मेरी एक बात मानो तुम भगवान श्री कृष्ण की पूजा शुरू कर दो तो देखना तुम्हारी जिंदगी में जल्दी ही सब कुछ ठीक होने लगेगा।

वो व्यक्ति दोस्त के पास तो आना कानी करने लगा कि मैं ये सब नहीं मानता ,सब कर्मों का खेल है, लेकिन अपने घर आकर रात में जब सोने गया तो उसने सोचा कि  वैसे भी मेरी जिंदगी में अभी तो सब कुछ खराब ही चल रहा है तो यदि मैं भगवान श्री कृष्ण की मूर्ती लाकर पूजा करना शुरू करता हूं तो क्या बुरा है।

अगले दिन बाजार जाकर भगवान श्री कृष्ण की मूर्ती लाकर विधि पूर्वक मूर्ति को स्थापित करके उनकी पूजा पाठ करने लगा। पूजा करते करते एक महीना, दो महीना करते करते पूरा साल बीत गया लेकिन उसकी जिंदगी में कोई बदलाव नहीं आया।

अब वो और गुस्से में भगवान का पूजा करने लगा और उनसे कहने लगा कि मैं आपका इतना पूजा करता हूं लेकिन आप तो मेरे लिए कुछ करते ही नहीं, ऐसे करते करते उसे दो साल बीत गया लेकिन उसकी जिंदगी में कोई बदलाव नहीं आया।

दो साल बाद उसे एक दूसरा दोस्त मिला, उसने उससे कहा कि अरे तुम भगवान श्री कृष्ण की पूजा क्यों करते हो, अब से तुम काली मां की पूजा करो तुम्हारी जिंदगी में खुशियां आने लगेंगी, बहुत सारा बदलाव आने लगेगा। अब उसने सोचा कि दूसरा दोस्त जो कह रहा है इसकी बात भी मानकर देखता हूं, दूसरे दिन  वो सुबह बाजार जाकर  काली मां की मूर्ती घर ले आया।

उसने भगवान श्री कृष्ण की मूर्ती को मंदिर के ऊपर एक आलमारी थी उस पर रख दिया और काली मां की मूर्ती को मंदिर में स्थापित कर विधि पूर्वक उनकी पूजा करने लगा। काली मां की पूजा करते हुए भी उसे दो तीन महीने हो गए, एक दिन शाम में जब वो काली मां की पूजा कर रहा था तो उसकी नज़र मंदिर के ऊपर रखे भगवान श्री कृष्ण की मूर्ती पर पड़ी और वह सोचने लगा कि मैं जो काली मां को अगरबत्ती दिखाता हूं इसका धुवां तो भगवान श्री कृष्ण जो कि मंदिर के ऊपर आलमारी पर बैठे हैं उन तक भी जाता है, वो भी इसे सूंघते होंगे।

            उसने सोचा कि मैं ये अगरबत्ती और धूप बत्ती तो काली मां के लिए जलाता हूं लेकिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण भी इसे सूंघते हैं। मैं उनके लिए तो ये अगरबत्ती और धूप बत्ती नहीं जलाता हूं,तो मैं एक काम करता हूं कि उनके मुंह को और नाक को कपड़े से बांध देता हूं जिससे कि वो इसे नहीं सूंघ पाए।

उसने अपने बच्चे को आवाज़ देकर उससे एक कपड़ा और सीढ़ी मंगवाई और सीढ़ी पर चढ़ कर जैसे ही भगवान श्री कृष्ण का के नाक को कपड़े से बांधने लगा कि भगवान ने उसका हाथ पकड़ लिया, भगवान को अपना हाथ पकड़े हुए देखकर वो व्यक्ति बहुत हैरान हो गया और उनसे कहने लगा कि भगवान जब मैं इतने दिनों तक आपकी पूजा करता रहा, तब तो आपने मुझे कभी दर्शन नहीं दिया और आज जब मैं आपको बांधने आया तो आपने मुझे दर्शन दिया।

तब भगवान श्री कृष्ण मुस्कुराते हुए कहने लगे कि जब तुम मेरी भक्ति और पूजा करते थे तो उस समय तुम मुझे मूर्ती मानकर मेरी पूजा करते थे, लेकिन आज तुम्हें लगा कि तुम जो काली मां को अगरबत्ती आदि दिखाते हो तो उसकी सुगंध मुझ तक भी पहुंचती है और मैं भी सुगंध को सूंघता हूं। क्योंकि आज तुम्हें लगा कि ये मेरी मूर्ती नहीं ये स्वयं मैं हूं, तो तुम मुझे बांधने आए इसलिए आज तुम्हें मैंने अपना दर्शन दिया।

                      इस कहानी से हमें यही सीख मिलती है कि जब तक हम अपने घर के मंदिर में बैठे हुए भगवान को मूर्ती मानकर उनकी पूजा करते रहेंगे तब तक वो हमें दिखाई नहीं देंगे, और जिस दिन से हम ये जान लेंगे कि वो मूर्ति नहीं साक्षात प्रभु हैं तो वो हमें दिखाई देने लगेंगे और हमेशा हमारे साथ रहकर हमारी रक्षा करेंगे, क्योंकि भगवान केवल हमारे भाव के भूखे हैं उन्हें हमसे और कुछ भी नहीं चाहिए।

A person whose life was going bad, who was getting very less salary, had taken a lot of loans and was in debt all around.  He was always very upset, had no faith in worship and God at all.

People used to tell him many times that brother, do a little worship, but he did not listen to anyone.  One day he was sitting with his friend, then his friend advised him that I know you do not believe in worship and God, but if you start worshiping Lord Shri Krishna, then see your life.  I will soon everything will be fine.

That person started coming to a friend and said that I do not believe in all this, it is a game of karma, but when he came to his house and went to sleep at night, he thought that anyway, everything is going bad in my life right now.  So what is wrong if I start worshiping by bringing an idol of Lord Shri Krishna.

The next day, after going to the market and bringing the idol of Lord Shri Krishna, he established the idol and started worshiping him.  One month while worshiping, a whole year passed by doing two months but there was no change in his life.

Now he started worshiping God in anger and started telling him that I worship you so much but you do not do anything for me, it has passed two years but there is no change in his life.

After two years he got another friend, he told him that hey why do you worship Lord Shri Krishna, from now on you worship Kali Maa, happiness will start coming in your life, a lot of changes will start coming.  Now he thought that I also accept what the other friend is saying, the next day he went to the market in the morning and brought the idol of Kali Maa home.

He placed the idol of Lord Shri Krishna on a cupboard above the temple and installed the idol of Kali Maa in the temple and started worshiping her methodically.  Even after worshiping Kali Maa, it has been two or three months, one day in the evening when he was worshiping Kali Maa, his eyes fell on the idol of Lord Shri Krishna placed above the temple and he started thinking that I am the Kali Maa.  If I show incense sticks to me, its smoke reaches even to those who are sitting on the almirah above the temple, they too must be smelling it.

He thought that I burn these incense sticks and incense sticks for Kali Maa but Lord Shri Krishna also smells it.  I do not light these incense sticks and incense sticks for them, so I do one thing that they cover their mouth and nose with cloth so that they cannot smell it.

He called his child and asked him for a cloth and a ladder and as soon as he started tying the nose of Lord Krishna with a cloth that the Lord held his hand, the person was very surprised to see the Lord holding his hand.  Gaya and started telling him that when I kept worshiping you for so many days, then you never appeared to me and today when I came to tie you up, you appeared to me.

Then Lord Krishna started smiling and said that when you used to worship and worship me, at that time you used to worship me as an idol, but today you felt that if you show incense sticks etc. to Kali Maa, its fragrance reaches me too.  And I also smell the fragrance.  Because today you thought that this is not my idol, it is myself, so you came to bind me, so today I gave you my darshan.

The lesson we get from this story is that as long as we keep worshiping God as an idol while sitting in the temple of our house, then he will not be visible to us, and from the day we will know that he is not an idol but the real Lord.  So he will be visible to us and will always protect us by staying with us, because God is hungry only for our feelings, he does not want anything else from us.

देवउठनी एकादशी व्रत कथा

भगवान श्री विष्णु आषाढ़ शुक्ल एकादशी को चार माह के लिए शयन करते हैं, जो प्रारंभ होता है आषाढ़ मास के शुक्ल पक्ष में आने वाली देवशयनी एकादशी से । 

                    चार माह बाद भगवान कार्तिक शुक्ल एकादशी को पुनः जागते हैं, इसलिए इस एकादशी को देवउठनी एकादशी या प्रबोधिनी एकादशी कहा जाता है।

इसका वर्णन स्कंद पुराण में नारद मुनि और ब्रम्हा जी के संवाद में मिलता है।

                   इस एकादशी के महात्म्य के विषय में ब्रम्हा जी नारद मुनि से कहते हैं कि ये एकादशी सभी को पुण्य और मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाली एकादशी है। इस एकादशी के व्रत को श्रद्धा पूर्वक पालन करने वालों को राजसूय यज्ञ और अश्वमेध यज्ञ करने के फल से भी कई गुणा ज्यादा फल की प्राप्ति होती है।

                  इस व्रत के प्रभाव से सभी प्रकार के जघन्य पाप भी नष्ट हो जाते हैं, और ऐसे व्यक्ति की पहले की पीढियां और आने वाली पीढ़ियां भी भगवद्धाम को प्राप्त होते हैं। प्रातः काल स्नान आदि करके भगवान के सामने एकादशी के व्रत का संकल्प लेना चाहिए, इस दिन किसी भी प्रकार के अन्न ग्रहण नहीं करना चाहिए।

                  इस दिन किसी भी प्रकार की भौतिक लालसा नहीं करना चाहिए। एकादशी के दिन भगवान के दिव्य लीलाओं का श्रवण और उनका कीर्तन करना चाहिए। इस दिन हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का अधिक से अधिक जप करना चाहिए, इस्कॉन के संस्थापक और महान गुरु श्रीला प्रभुपाद के कथनानुसार एकादशी के दिन सभी को कम से कम 25 माला अवश्य करना चाहिए और ज्यादा से ज्यादा जितना माला हो सके,अगर 25 माला नहीं हो सके तो कम से कम 16 माला तो सभी को करना ही चाहिए।

                   द्वादशी के दिन प्रातः ब्रह्म मुहूर्त में उठकर स्नान आदि  करके , भगवान के विग्रह को स्नान कराएं, उन्हें सुन्दर वस्त्र पहनाकर उनको फल, मिश्री आदि का भोग लगा कर उसके उपरांत योग्य ब्राम्हणों को भोजन कराएं।

ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराने के बाद हमें पारन करना चाहिए और ,यथाशक्ति ब्राम्हणों को कुछ दक्षिणा देना चाहिए। इस प्रकार ब्रम्हा जी ने नारद मुनि से इस एकादशी व्रत के महात्म्य को बताया।

 इस दिन अधिक से अधिक संख्यां में हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करें, भगवान के पवित्र नामों का कीर्तन करें, भगवद्गीता और भागवतम्  का पठन करें।

Lord Shri Vishnu sleeps for four months on Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi, which starts with Devshayani Ekadashi falling in the Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month.

After four months, Lord Kartik wakes up again on Shukla Ekadashi, hence this Ekadashi is called Devuthani Ekadashi or Prabodhini Ekadashi.

Its description is found in Skanda Purana in the dialogue of Narada Muni and Brahma ji.

Regarding the greatness of this Ekadashi, Brahma ji tells Narad Muni that this Ekadashi is Ekadashi that bestows virtue and salvation to all. Those who follow the fast of this Ekadashi with devotion get many times more fruit than the result of performing Rajasuya Yagya and Ashwamedha Yagya.

All kinds of heinous sins are also destroyed by the effect of this fast, and the earlier generations and the generations to come of such a person also attain to Godhead. After taking bath in the morning etc., one should take a vow of fasting on Ekadashi in front of God, on this day one should not take any kind of food.

One should not indulge in any kind of material craving on this day. On the day of Ekadashi, one should listen and chant the divine pastimes of the Lord. Hare Krishna Mahamantra should be chanted more and more on this day, according to the great guru of ISKCON Srila Prabhupada, everyone must do 25 rounds on Ekadashi and if 25 rounds is not possible then at least 16 rounds should be done by everyone. .

On the day of Dwadashi, after getting up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning, bathing etc., bathe the Deity of God, dress them in beautiful clothes, offer them fruits, sugar candy etc. and then feed them to the eligible Brahmins.

After feeding the Brahmins, we should do the paran and, as much as we can, give some dakshina to the Brahmins. Thus Brahma ji told Narad Muni the greatness of this Ekadashi fast.

 On this day, chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra in large numbers, chant the holy names of God, read Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavatam.

रमा एकादशी व्रत कथा

* पद्म पुराण के अनुसार कार्तिक मास की एकादशी के व्रत का नियमपूर्वक पालन करने से अत्यंत ही पुण्य फल की प्राप्ति होती है। ब्रह्म वैवर्त पुराण में भगवान श्री कृष्ण तथा युधिष्ठिर महाराज के संवादों में रमा एकादशी का वर्णन आता है।

एक बार युधिष्ठिर महाराज ने भगवान श्री कृष्ण से पूछा कि हे गोविंद कार्तिक मास की कृष्ण पक्ष में जो एकादशी आती है, कृप्या आप मुझे उस एकादशी का नाम और उसके महात्म्य के बारे में बताएं।

भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने कहा कि हे राजन सब पापों का नाश करने वाली इस एकादशी को रमा एकादशी कहते हैं। हे राजन प्राचीन काल में मुचकुन्द नाम का एक राजा था , उसकी इंद्र के साथ मित्रता थी और यम, कुबेर, वरुण उसके मित्र थे।

यह राजा बड़ा धर्मात्मा और विष्णु भक्त था, और न्याय पूर्वक राज्य करता था। उस राजा की एक बेटी थी, जिसका नाम चंद्रभागा था। राजा की कन्या का विवाह चंद्रसेन के पुत्र शोभन के साथ हुआ। एक बार शोभन अपने ससुराल आया, उन्हीं दिनों जल्दी ही पुन्यदायिनी रमा एकादशी आने वाली थी। 

जब व्रत का दिन नजदीक आ गया तो चंद्रभागा बहुत घबरा गई कि मेरे पति अत्यंत दुर्बल हैं,और मेरे पिता की आज्ञा अत्यंत कठोर है, दशमी तिथि को ही राजा ने पूरे नगर में ढोल बजाकर ये घोषणा करा दिया की कल एकादशी है अतः सारे नगरवासी कल इस व्रत का नियमपूर्वक पालन करेंगे।

राजा के घोषणा को सुनते ही शोभन को बहुत चिंता होने लगी , वो अपनी पत्नी से कहने लगा कि हे प्रिया अब क्या करना चाहिए, मैं किसी प्रकार भी भूख सहन नहीं कर सकूंगा। आप मुझे कोई ऐसा उपाय बताओ जिससे कि मेरे प्राण बच सके, अन्यथा मेरे प्राण अवश्य निकल जाएंगे।

चंद्रभागा अपने पति से कहने लगी कि हे स्वामी मेरे पिता के राज्य में एकादशी के दिन कोई भी भोजन नहीं करता , यहां तक कि हाथी, घोड़ा, ऊंट, बिल्ली और गौ इत्यादि भी तृण , अन्न या जल कुछ भी ग्रहण नहीं कर सकते, फिर मनुष्य का तो कहना ही क्या है।

यदि आप भोजन करना चाहते हैं तो किसी दूसरे स्थान पर चले जाईए, क्योंकि यदि आप यहां रहेंगे तो आपको व्रत का पालन करना ही पड़ेगा। ऐसा सुनकर शोभन कहने लगा कि हे प्रिया मैं अवश्य ही व्रत करुंगा जो भाग्य में होगा देखा जाएगा।

इस प्रकार शोभन ने भी एकादशी का व्रत रख लिया, परंतु शीघ्र ही वह भूख और प्यास से व्याकुल हो गया। जब सूर्यास्त हो गया और रात्रि में जागरण का समय आया जो वैष्णवो के लिए बहुत सुखदाई होता है, परंतु शोभन के लिए वह अत्यंत दुखदाई साबित हुआ और उसके प्राण निकल गए।

तब राजा ने सुगंधित लकड़ी से उसका दाह संस्कार करवाया, परंतु चंद्रभागा ने अपने पिता की आज्ञा से अपने शरीर को अपने पति के साथ नहीं जलाया। चंद्रभागा अपने पति के अंतिम संस्कार के बाद अपने पिता के साथ ही रहने लगी।

रमा एकादशी के व्रत के प्रभाव से शोभन को मंदराचल पर्वत पर धन धान्य से युक्त तथा शत्रुओं से रहित सुंदर देवपुर प्राप्त हुआ। वह अत्यंत सुंदर रत्न जटित, स्वर्ण के खंभों पर निर्मित अनेक प्रकार से सुशोभित भवन में बहुमुल्य  वस्त्र,आभूषणों से सुसज्जित होकर ,सुंदर अप्सराओं और गंधर्व के बीच सिंहासन पर विराजमान होकर ऐसा प्रतीत होता था मानो धरती पर दूसरा  इंद्र उतर आए हों।

एक दिन  राजा मुचकुन्द  के नगर में रहने वाला सोम शर्मा नामक ब्राह्मण तीर्थ यात्रा करता हुआ उधर जा पहुंचा, और उसने शोभन को पहचान लिया कि अरे यह तो राजा का जमाई शोभन है। वह शोभन के निकट गया तो शोभन ने भी उसे पहचान लिया और अपने सिंहासन से उठकर उसे प्रणाम किया और उससे उसका कुशल समाचार पूछा।

ब्राह्मण ने कहा कि राजा मुचकुंद और आपकी पत्नी कुशल पूर्वक हैं, और राज्य में सभी कुशल पूर्वक हैं, परंतु हे राजन आप अपने बारे में बताएं कि आपको ऐसा सुंदर नगर जो आज तक कभी किसी ने न देखा और न सुना आपको कैसे प्राप्त हुआ। तब शोभन बोला कि कार्तिक मास की रमा एकादशी व्रत को करने से मुझे ये नगर प्राप्त हुआ है, परंतु यह अस्थिर है, यह स्थिर हो जाए ऐसा कोई उपाय कीजिए।

ब्राह्मण कहने लगे कि हे राजन यह स्थिर क्यों नहीं है और मैं क्या करूं कि ये स्थिर हो जाए आप मुझे बताएं, फिर मैं अवश्य वह उपाय करूंगा। इसपर शोभन ने कहा कि मैंने रमा एकादशी के व्रत को श्रद्धा रहित होकर किया इसलिए यह नगर अस्थिर है, और यदि आप चंद्रभागा को यह सब वृतांत कहें तो यह स्थिर हो सकता है।

ऐसा सुनकर उस ब्राह्मण ने अपने राज्य में लौटकर चंद्रभागा से इस पूरे वृतांत को कह डाला। ब्राह्मण की बातें सुनकर चंद्रभागा कहने लगी कि हे ब्राह्मण आपने ये प्रत्यक्ष देखी है या आप अपने स्वप्न की बातें कर रहे हैं ।

इसपर ब्राह्मण कहने लगे कि हे पुत्री मैंने महावन में तुम्हारे पति को प्रत्यक्ष देखा है, साथ ही जो किसी से पराजित न हों ऐसा देवताओं के जैसा उनका नगर देखा है। उन्होंने कहा कि वह नगर स्थिर नहीं है तो जिस प्रकार वह स्थिर हो जाए उसका उपाय करना चाहिए।

                तब चंद्रभागा कहने लगी कि हे ब्राह्मण आप मुझे शीघ्र वहां ले चलिए, मुझे अपने पति से मिलने की तीव्र लालसा है। मैं अपने किए हुए पुण्य से उस नगर को स्थिर बना दूंगी। आप ऐसा कार्य कीजिए जिससे कि उनका और हमारा मिलन हो जाए, क्योंकि वियोगी को मिला देना बहुत बड़ा पुण्य है।

सोम शर्मा यह सुनकर चंद्रभागा को लेकर मन्दराचल पर्वत के समीप वाम देव ऋषि के आश्रम पर गए। वामदेव ऋषि ने सब बात सुनकर  मंत्रोच्चारण द्वारा चंद्रभागा का अविषेक कर दिया।तब ऋषि के अविषेक और एकादशी के व्रत के प्रभाव से चंद्रभागा का शरीर दिव्य हो गया।

अब वह बड़ी प्रसन्नता से अपने पति के निकट जाने लगी, अपनी पत्नी को निकट आता देखकर शोभन बड़ा प्रसन्न हुआ और उसे बुलाकर अपनी बाईं ओर बैठा लिया। चंद्रभागा कहने लगी कि हे स्वामी अब आप मेरे पुण्य को ग्रहण कीजिए, अपने पिता के घर जब मैं आठ साल की थी तबसे श्रद्धापूर्वक सभी एकादशी व्रत को करते आ रही हूं। इस पुण्य के प्रताप से आपका यह नगर स्थिर हो जाएगा,तथा समस्त कर्मों से युक्त होकर प्रलय के अंत तक रहेगा। इस प्रकार समस्त आभूषणों और सुंदर वस्त्रों से सुसज्जित होकर चंद्रभागा अपने पति के साथ सुखपूर्वक रहने लगी।

भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने तब युधिष्ठिर से कहा कि हे राजन इस रमा एकादशी का विधि पूर्वक पालन करने से मनुष्य के सारे पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं। कृष्ण पक्ष और शुक्ल पक्ष दोनों एकादशी समान फल देती हैं, दोनों में कोई भेद नहीं है। इस दिन भगवान की सुंदर लीलाओं का श्रवण करना चाहिए, और अधिक से अधिक हरे कृष्ण महामंत्र का जप करना चाहिए, जिससे कि हमारे मन पर छुपे हुए मैल धुल जाए और हमारा मन अत्यंत शुद्ध हो जाए। भगवद्गीता और भागवतम् का अध्ययन करना चाहिए।

* According to Padma Purana, by following the fast of Ekadashi of Kartik month, very virtuous results are attained. In the Brahma Vaivarta Purana, there is a description of Rama Ekadashi in the dialogues of Lord Shri Krishna and Yudhishthira Maharaj.

Once Yudhishthira Maharaj asked Lord Shri Krishna that O Govinda, the Ekadashi which comes in the Krishna Paksha of Kartik month, please tell me the name of that Ekadashi and its greatness.

Lord Shri Krishna said that O king, this Ekadashi, which destroys all sins, is called Rama Ekadashi. O king, in ancient times there was a king named Muchkund, he was friends with Indra and Yama, Kubera, Varuna were his friends.

This king was very devout and a devotee of Vishnu, and ruled justly. That king had a daughter, whose name was Chandrabhaga. The king's daughter was married to Shobhan, son of Chandrasen. Once Shobhan came to his in-laws' house, soon Punyadayini Rama Ekadashi was about to come.

When the day of fast came near, Chandrabhaga was very worried that my husband is very weak, and my father's order is very strict, on the tenth day itself, the king made the announcement by playing drums in the whole city that tomorrow is Ekadashi, so all the townspeople Tomorrow we will observe this fast regularly.

On hearing the announcement of the king, Shobhan got very worried, he started telling his wife that what should I do now, dear, I will not be able to bear hunger in any way. You tell me any such way by which my life can be saved, otherwise my life will surely go out.

Nor is it the same for human beings.

If you want to eat, then go to some other place, because if you stay here then you will have to observe the fast. It has also been seen that this has been seen even after being wrong.

In times of crisis, the situation will remain the same. Sun exposure can be even more dangerous when exposed to sunlight.

Due to the effect of fasting on Rama Ekadashi, Shobhan got a beautiful Devpur devoid of enemy enemies from the wealth paddy on the Mandarachal mountain. One day, a Brahmin named Som Sharma, who lived in the city of King Muchkund, went there on a pilgrimage, and he recognized Shobhan that he was the king's Jamai Shobhan. When he went near Shobhan, Shobhan also recognized him and rose from his throne and bowed to him and asked him about his well being.

The brahmin said that King Muchkund and your wife are doing well, and everyone is doing well in the kingdom, but O king, tell me about yourself, how did you get such a beautiful city that no one has ever seen or heard of till date. Then Shobhan said that by observing Rama Ekadashi fast of Kartik month, I have attained this city, but it is unstable, take some measures to make it stable.

The brahmin started saying that O king, why is it not stable and what should I do so that it becomes stable, you tell me, then I will definitely do that remedy. To this Shobhan said that I observed the fast of Rama Ekadashi without faith, so this city is unstable, and if you tell all this to Chandrabhaga, then it can be stable.

Hearing this, the Brahmin returned to his kingdom and told this whole story to Chandrabhaga. Hearing the words of the brahmin, Chandrabhaga started saying that oh brahmin, have you seen this directly or are you talking about your dreams.

On this the brahmin began to say that, O daughter, I have seen your husband in the Mahavan directly, as well as have seen his city like the gods who are not defeated by anyone. He said that the city is not stable, so the way it becomes stable, measures should be taken.

Then Chandrabhaga started saying that O Brahmin, you take me there soon, I have a strong longing to meet my husband. I will make that city stable by the virtue I have done. You should do such work so that they and ours may meet, because mixing the detached is a great virtue.

Hearing this, Som Sharma took Chandrabhaga and went to the ashram of Sage Vam Dev near Mandarachal mountain. Sage Vamdev, after listening to everything and chanting mantras, made Chandrabhaga's body divine.

Now she started approaching her husband with great pleasure, Shobhan was very happy to see his wife coming near and called her and made her sit on his left side. Chandrabhaga started saying that, O lord, now accept my virtue, since I was eight years old at my father's house, I have been doing all Ekadashi fasts with devotion. With the majesty of this virtue, this city of yours will become stable, and will remain full of all the karma till the end of the Holocaust. Thus equipped with all the ornaments and beautiful clothes, Chandrabhaga started living happily with her husband.

Lord Shri Krishna then told Yudhishthira that O king, by following this Rama Ekadashi methodically, all the sins of man are destroyed. Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha both Ekadashi give similar results, there is no difference between the two. On this day one should listen to the beautiful pastimes of the Lord, and chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra more and more, so that the hidden dirt on our mind gets washed away and our mind becomes very pure.

Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavatam should be studied.
